I Confess It. Is. So. Addicting.

Photobucket

I Confess...

This Confession is LATE. I am having a hard time finding time to blog lately.

Life is just sooooo crazy busy, between work, putting together my preschool, taking care of my family, and my latest obsession, selling things on a local Facebook group...I am just SWAMPED.

Add to all of this taking our Foster / Adopt training classes and getting the house ready to take in some littles and Mama is going a little cray cray y'all.

Nesting. I might get a little OCD about it.

I Confess...

Big Daddy has been a dream, of course, always jumping in and helping me whenever he can.

EVERYDAY he loads up the car with the items I have sold and goes and sits with me in a parking lot where I meet up with my buyers.

He never complains. He is actually impressed by the money I am making.

I also think he secretly loves that I am getting rid of shoes I've never worn, purses that are collecting dust and the million puzzles and games we have laying around that are not getting played with.

I Confess...

I have been at this for 2 weeks now...I added up my sales total so far.

Wait for it...

$756.00

Yeah, I can load up my car and sit in a parking lot for an hour each day for that kind of easy lettuce, yo!

I Confess...

I might be a little addicted.

But I am loving getting rid of my crap...and emptying storage boxes.

Sooooooooo NICE to purge.

(and get paid for stuff taking up space in my home)

On another note...

I am sure there are a few of you out there tired of hearing how perfect my husband is.

I totally get that, so this one is for you.

I Confess...

The other day I got in MY car and the seat was wet.

At first I was mad thinking Big Daddy had left the windows down while he was at the gym and it was raining.

THEN

It hit me.

Big Daddy. Took. My. Car. To. The. Gym.

That moment when you realize you are sitting in sweat.

Gross!!

I will leave ya with that.

Photobucket
EDITED TO ADD: a lot of people are asking me how I found my FB group where i sell things. Truth is I was invited by my cousin when we moved back to Hollister. My guess for finding one in your area is to search FB groups...maybe use searches like "Your Town Steals and Deals" or "Your Town Group Listings". Good luck!

I am also giving away a $25 Target Gift Card to celebrate the ONE YEAR Anniversary of We Want to Know...so link up for YOUR chance to win!!

Vandy @ http://tttandme.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{one} What is your quirkiest habit?
D @ http://beneaththesurfaceanewbeginning.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{two}What TV show do you always stop to watch?
Vanessa @ http://www.jfamforlife.com wants to know:
{three} What do you miss most about being a kid?
Jolene @ http://richjmylife.blogspot.com wants to know:
{four} How many siblings do you have?
Kenzie @ http://cbmommyhood.blogspot.com wants to know:
{five} How do you get yourself out of a funk?

Here are MY answers...

Vandy @ http://tttandme.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{one} What is your quirkiest habit?
I have a few...you tell me which is the quirkiest:
1. i need to say "the garage door is closed" before leaving the driveway. if someone is with me i will tell them "when i ask if the garage door is closed, the answer is yes". and even after doing both of these things i have been known to drive around the block to double check...so annoying.
2. i don't pump my own gas...like ever. i CAN do it and i have (like less than a dozen times in my life) but if someone will do it for me i will totally let them and i have been known to ask total strangers (women even) to do it for me. Luckily Big Daddy makes sure my tank is always full.
3. I think I might be a dyslexic anorexic…lemme explain. I am a curvy girl, for sure. Sometimes when I look in the mirror I think “girl, you’re not that fat”.

D @ http://beneaththesurfaceanewbeginning.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{two}What TV show do you always stop to watch?
I am all about reality TV, if it is someone else's business I wanna watch it...I am a Real Housewives of anywhere JUNKY! I pretty much love everything on Bravo.

Vanessa @ http://www.jfamforlife.com wants to know:
{three} What do you miss most about being a kid?
Right now it is not having to pay for my own gas and I miss the deep, dream filled, sleep I use to get.

Jolene @ http://richjmylife.blogspot.com wants to know:
{four} How many siblings do you have?
There are 5 of us...Mark, Me, Amy, Scotty and Meg

Kenzie @ http://cbmommyhood.blogspot.com wants to know:
{five} How do you get yourself out of a funk?
I wish I was more if an expert on this. There are times that there is no good reason for me to be in a funk but I am...it's kinda lame. A little retail therapy goes a long way with me. I am looking forward to reading your answers about this.

LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR THE FAVORITE COLOR SWAP! ARE YA PLAYING?

The Fancy Tea Party Kind of Happy!

Photobucket

I have made some fantastic purchases lately. The one that makes me most HAPPY is this little beauty. My mom had one of these when I was a kid and I LOVED it. I cannot wait to make some little sandwiches for a tea party with my nieces.

teaparty

Big Daddy never ceases to amaze me. Last week he decided he needed to take his little commuter car in and get the brakes fixed, so he made plans to drop it at the mechanic on his day off. The next thing I knew it was his day off and he was making plans to change the brakes himself. My husband, the grease monkey...I love it!! Saving $400 makes this mama HAPPY!!

GreaseMonkey500

I love that he can be a tough guy mechanic one minute and a snuggle daddy in the next. This picture of Big Daddy and Coco makes me REALLY HAPPY!!

LOVEDaddy500

Good Mail makes me VERY HAPPY!! Especially when it is from people I love and miss. Myya and her little ladies put together a little package for Coco and me...LOOK at the dress they picked out for Coco and the pictures they drew for me and Big Daddy...so CUTE, they made my day!!

Photobucket

Construction began on my little preschool today. I am expanding my space, we need more room to play and learn. There is a new floor and there will be a new wall soon...so excited. I will take pictures/video as soon as it is done. HAPPY!!

I am sooooo HAPPY that y'all voted for the Favorite Color Swap...are you playing?

So what is making YOUR Happy List this week?

Don't Mess w Mama...a Confession

The poll for the theme for Mamarazzi's next swap is closing soon...have you voted?
Photobucket

I Confess...

I am fed up!!!

For the last few weeks someone has been leaving their garbage in the street across from my driveway or in my yard.

I keep picking it up because I live in a nice neighborhood and want it to stay that way.

EVERYTIME it is McDonald's trash.

Mama doesn't eat McD's, the smell alone triggers my reflux and I gag.

I Confess...

True story, last Summer when MiMi and Myya were here with their kids for our annual MiMyMa Retreat we drove thru McD's for the kids.

I Confess...

My car still stinks.

And they PROMISED the smell would go away.

THAT'S how much I hate McD's...won't eat it EVER.

I Confess...

Wednesday I as in the backyard chilling w Coco and she went over by the gate where I couldn't see her.

If she wanted to she could get out through a little hole there that we need to fix.

So I went over to keep a closer eye on her.

I Confess...

I almost LOST it. I yelled, "Are you kidding me?"

(and maybe a few expletives)

Big Daddy was inside and came to see what I was yelling about.

There, IN MY BACKYARD, by the gate was someone's McD's garbage.

I Confess...

I. Was. Pissed.

It's like someone is playing a mean trick on me.

Who would know that I detest McD's so much? Why would they constantly leave me their garbage?

AND what posessed them to toss the garbage over my fence?

Seriously?

I Confess...

I had a dream last night that I was decked out in Camo and ear protection waiting for the "McD's garbage dumper"

I shot them.

Dead.

When Big Daddy came home he was sooooo mad at me. He told me my hatred for McD's was insane and that I had taken this all way too far.

But

He helped me bury the body.

I Confess...

I woke up thinking that was really nice of him.

A New Chapter

Tomorrow we start our classes for Foster/Adoption in our new county.

We went through the whole process on our old county and got to the final step of getting our home licensed and couldn't pass the home inspection because our pool wasn't properly enclosed.

We were renting the home Big Daddy grew up in from his folk's and they weren't able/willing to put the money into fencing the pool to meet the state of California's requirements.

It was then that we decided that we needed to move and we started working towards making that happen.

Now that we are settled in here in our new home we are excited to start all over and get us some kids!

I am going to journal our journey to adding to our family on a private blog.

The adorable and VERY talented Vanessa @ A Randomlicious Blog for the Soul is creating the blog design and it is amazeballs so far.

I am keeping the blog private so  I can actually post pictures of the kids we will have in our home.

Our plan is to adopt, but we are also hoping to help a few kids who need a temporary home along the way so we need to be careful about what we put out there on line.

OH and our pseudo names on the new blog are Boo and Honey.

Cute right?!

The title of the blog is "JOY in Our JOurneY"...all because of Our Dandelion Wishes.

Did you know that the whole title Dandelion Wishes is because we use all of our birthday, penny in a fountain, falling star and dandelion wishes on adding to our family?

Yep, it's true...that's the story behind the title...so it makes sense that "all because of Our Dandelion Wishes" is the tag line for JOY in Our JOurneY

Anyway. Once the blog is up and running I will share some screen shots with y'all.

If you want to follow our journey then let me know and I will send ya an invite.

We are pretty excited. All signs have been pointing to YES ever since we made the decision to move here.

Feeling overwhelmingly blessed right now.

PS EVERY time I see this I bawl like a baby. You?

Testing, Testing...WWTK wk 53

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Crazymama
null

Before we begin, can you believe we have been doing WWTK for a whole year now?! Crazy how times flies. I have been so overwhelmed with life outside of blogging I didn't think of a way to properly celebrate this milestone. I will work on that, next week...prizes!

This week my lovely co host is asking the questions.
Here is what Crazymama sent:

It's standardized testing week here and in an attempt to send the herd out the door with a full belly I've made hot breakfast for them. So i'm on a food kick. Thus the questions.

{1} What is your favorite go to breakfast recipe for special occasions or company?
{2} What is your policy for kids that don't want to eat what you are serving?
{3} Do you take treats to neighbors? What kind?
{4} What is your most used spice in your cupboard? (Besides salt or pepper)
{5} What is your favorite fruit ? Do you have a Fave veggie?
Bonus question....
{6} It was tax day here in the US. Did you get a return? How do you spend it?

Here are MY answers I will be by later to read and comment on yours!

{1} What is your favorite go to breakfast recipe for special occasions or company?
If we have company  I go really simple. I usually have a fruit salad and bagels and english muffins, with a variety of cream cheeses and jams. OR instead of bagels and english muffins I will do a variety of muffins, banana, blueberry, cinnamon apple etc. to go with the fresh fruit. I also try to have fresh flavored coffee creamers whenever my in laws are in town...since they are BIG coffee drinkers I will brew a pot or two for them when they visit, even though we are not coffee drinkers ourselves.

{2} What is your policy for kids that don't want to eat what you are serving?
They are offered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an apple and a glass of milk, that they make for themselves. I don't do picky eaters well. My nieces and nephews know that is the only other option besides what is being served and Jordan is not picky so it is never an issue.

{3} Do you take treats to neighbors? What kind?
Nope. We really never see our neighbors, we live on a corner lot and the house faces the side of another house across the street from the front door (also on a corner lot) and the garage side faces the back fence of a gated community. I want to be the kind of neighbor that takes treats and junk over, I am just lazy.

{4} What is your most used spice in your cupboard? (Besides salt or pepper)
Most def the Garlic Salt...I am not sure I can cook without it.

{5} What is your favorite fruit ? Do you have a Fave veggie?
I love love love apricots and peaches, oh and strawberries and watermelon...hmm i love fruit! My favorite veggie is broccoli, but i also love asparagus and squash!

Bonus question....

{6} It was tax day here in the US. Did you get a return? How do you spend it?
I haven't recieved a tax return since I married Big Daddy...it always just comes out even or we need to pay a little. This year we will get a little back but it will likely go to Jordan's needs/wants...most "extra" funds do!

Have you voted for the theme of the next swap?
Packages to go out on Friday May 4!!

Happy, Really, Happy!

Photobucket

OK y'all...I have been selling old clothes, decor, electronics, DVDs, CDs and other miscellaneous items to purge purge purge.

Well, that and cuz I wanted to justify new stuff :)

I am sooooo HAPPY to share a few fun things and a pretty cool story...

As y'all know I have been putting together a classroom for a preschool enrichment program I will be opening in the Fall.

It has been a lot of work and the project just got bigger.

I decided to take over more of the garage to make the classroom work better for me, this means putting in a temporary floor to make it all one level.

I got a GREAT bid from my cleaning lady's husband and work begins soon! HAPPY!!

I also decided that I wanted a new play kitchen, and I wanted one from KidKraft I KNOW their products are top quality and built to last.

I have been teaching and creating magical learning places for preschools for almost 20 yrs now (um, yeah, i am old).

So I know the toys and furniture that can withstand the test of time and thousands of kids playing with it daily. KidKraft is that company!

ANYWAY, I told myself that I could buy the KidKraft kitchen I wanted IF I bought it using money I made selling stuff I wasn't using.

So last Thursday I started listing things on a local Facebook group and by Sunday I had made $400+ and was ready to order it. HAPPY!!

I went to the Facebook group to delete some pictures of things that had sold and...

THERE. IT. WAS.

MY KidKraft play kitchen...listed for $80!!

I snatched it up...I wrote "Mine, Mine, MINE!" and told the girl I would come with cash to pick it up as soon as she would let me.

Guess what? She lives down the street from me!!

So within minutes this little beauty was in my playroom...

null

HAPPY!!!!

I am going to clean it up a little, though it is just a little dust and pen marks...it is in GREAT condition otherwise.

I am also going to paint all of the PINK that Lime Green that is in the curtains, just to make it match a little better and make it more gender neutral.

It makes me REALLY HAPPY to have it though and now the money I made can go to the floor.

YAY!!

I also recently started adding furniture to our patio, I got these COMFY chairs at Target for $18 each...total bargain.

null

I love our little backyard, especially since Francisco (that's fun to say), our gardener, seeded it for lawn. We are already using the space like it is part of the house. HAPPY!!!

null

Hey did you notice that Pete and Bella finally moved home with us?

Coco and Big Daddy are HAPPY!!

I am HAPPY they are HAPPY!

So what is on YOUR Happy List this week?

Grab a button, add it to your Happy List post and link up!!

2. Regularly visit and add to the conversation here at Dandelion Wishes
3. Can follow all of the rules for my swaps (you can read those HERE)

You do NOT qualify if you are not an active blogger, I broke my own rule last time and I will never do that again, people hate swapping with someone who never posts. Even if you have participated in one of my swaps before, sorry.

In fact I won't be straying from any of my rules this time. I know there are bloggers out there who think rules are for the birds and it's not cool or whatever...blah blah...but when everyone is following the rules I don't get hate mail.

Mama doesn't like hate mail, yo!

So if I am not one of the cool bloggers because I like rules then so be it.

MOST people really appreciate the rules and join my swaps because of them so, we are back to what is tried and true...because EVERYONE who participates is happy!

Breaking the Law...Confessional

Photobucket

I Confess...

I dropped my Mima and sister Amy off at the airport this morning.

Big Daddy got out to help Amy with checking in their bags at the curb.

This meant I was left sitting in a drop off zone, where I should not have been "parked".

I know this because one of the "traffic movers" came up to my car and told me to move.

I said I would in just a minute but my husband was helping my 91 year old Grandma check her bags.

He said, "No you need to circle around and pick him up"

I said, "No, he will be here in just a minute."

He said, "Then you are going to be cited"

I said, "OK!"

He asked, "You want a ticket?"

I said, "Go for it!""

He walked away and 2 seconds later Big Daddy got in the car and we drove away.

I Confess...

Big Daddy got a BIG laugh over his wife telling the "traffic mover" to "go for it"

Yep, Mamarazzi breaking the law, I am such a badass.

I Confess...

I was not prepared for how heartbroken Coco would be to see Mima leave for her vacation.

When we came home from the airport she went running around looking for her and this evening she has been found in Mima's chair in the room she was staying in.

null

I Confess...

I have been selling stuff like CRAY CRAY.

I found a local Facebook group that is like Craig's List.

It. Is. Awesome.

So far I haven't made any purchases, but it is only a matter of time.

Because I love a good deal.

Right now I am in the market for old windows, I have a fun project in mind for one of the larger walls in my house.

I Confess...

The other night when we were having a little sexy time I think I heard our bedroom door open and close.

Mima kept thinking our room was the bathroom since it is right across the hall from the bedroom she was staying in.

I haven't told Big Daddy about this yet, so we will see if he reads it on the blog.

I Confess...

He is likely gonna die wondering if our sweet little Mima walked in on us in a compromising position.

I kind of can't wait to see what he says.

So what are you confessing this week?

FYI...my internet has been REALLY poopy the last couple of weeks. I am sorry I haven't been visiting much, I will try to visit as many people as possible during good internet moments.

Oh SNAP!!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

As most of you know we recently moved to a new town, and a new house.

The house is GREAT!  We love the room, the layout, and the neighborhood.

What we didn’t LOVE was that the backyard was a wasteland.

The previous owners had cleared out all grass and built some lame planting boxes.  They had started some kind of brick project that didn’t look like it made any sense.

We cleared out the garbage and had to decide on what we wanted to do with our yard.  We looked into sod, but that was going to be in the $4000-$5000 range, WAY too rich for our blood.

So, our gardener, a great guy named Francisco (that’s fun to say!) said he could seed the yard and put down good healthy topsoil for about $300.  BARGAIN!

Well, that was a few short months ago, and now we have real grass in our backyard.

So, now we have the grass, and even though we didn’t spend a fortune for it, we still want to keep that $300 alive, right?

So, we need to feed it.

Now that is easier to do so with Scotts® Snap® Spreader System!

Now we can keep our beautiful lawn without the mess and guesswork.

All we do is Snap, Lock and Go! Get a great lawn in a ---- Snap®!

I checked out the video demo on the Scotts® website and I was really impressed.  The Snap Pac connects directly to the Snap Spreader – no cutting, no opening and no pouring from heavy bags – no spilling or waste!

The system auto-sets the proper flow rate. No Spreader settings required!

It also has a unique EdgeGuard feature that keeps product where you want it…. on the lawn!

Not wasted against a fence or sidewalk.

When you’re done, the Snap Pac self-seals upon removal making it easy to store – No more half empty bags on the garage floor.

Also, who doesn't love perks?

The Snap perks on Facebook Program begins March 7, 2012. Go on and "like" Scotts ® Facebook page for the chance to win amazing prizes!

IF...WWTK wk52

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Crazymama
null

In the middle if LIFE is one big IF...so I am asking IF questions this week, and here is what I, Mamarazzi, wants to know:

{one} If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
{two} If you could be guaranteed one thing in life besides money, what would you ask for?
{three} If you had to name the most terrifying event in your life thus far, what would it be?
{four} If you could possess one supernatural ability, what would it be?
{five} If you could "uninvent" one thing in the world , so that it would no longer exist, what would you choose?

{one} If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
It's a toss up between Friends (I know it off the air) and The Office (but only with Steve Carell).

{two} If you could be guaranteed one thing in life besides money, what would you ask for?
Good health...for all of my family and loved ones. Because unlike money good health is better when it is shared (I kid, I kid).

{three} If you had to name the most terrifying event in your life thus far, what would it be?
Most def my brush with death a few years ago and the entire year I lost recovering.

{four} If you could possess one supernatural ability, what would it be?
Mind reading...I know I would hear some things that I might not really like to know, but it could also come in handy, more often than not, I imagine.

{five} If you could "uninvent" one thing in the world , so that it would no longer exist, what would you choose?
EASY, no brainer... cigarettes. What a disgusting, invasive habit. Seriously, I don't understand the draw (no pun intended), light something on fire and inhale the smoke into your lungs and blow it out? Umm...why? So you can get cancer? Intelligent.

She is MY Sunshine!!

Photobucket

This little girl has been sweeter than ever lately (and how cute is she sleeping while holding her little ball?)

null

Having my Mima with us for the last week + has been amazing.

Her sweet spirit fills our home and the adorable love affair between Coco and Mima is a sight to behold.

Coco seems to know the JOY she bring Mima just from sitting her in lap.

If Mima is in the room Coco is by her side.

If Mima is in the back of the house, in her room, Coco is back and forth checking on her.

Coco makes Mima feel like she is contributing and helping...it is beautiful.

The sense of purpose that Mima feels is a beautiful thing.

So this week I am HAPPY that Mima has Coco and that Coco has Mima.

Fighting Hunger Together

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Walmart Foundation for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

FACT: More than 50 Million Americans don't know where their next meal will come from.

FACT: Springtime traditionally brings a decrease in food and charitable donations to food banks around the country.

FACT: One of the principal causes of hunger is unemployment.

But there is good news, help is available and you can be a part of making a BIG difference for a community in need.

To Help bridge the Spring hunger gap, Walmart is working with Feeding America and four of the most recognizable food brands in America- ConAgra, General Mills, Kraft and Kellogg's - in a nationwide Fighting Hunger Together initiative from Monday, April 9 through April 30.

As consumers WE can join the fight against hunger in-store or through Facebook.

Want to know HOW? It is really very simple...

VOTE: Between April 9th and April 30th Walmart will be hosting a Facebook campaign where fans can rally support for communities in need of hunger relief. Vote among 200 communities with the highest unemployment rate as determined by a Department of Labor Report (found here:http://bit.ly/H1yxFK).

I personally will be voting for Modesto CA, this is the area I just moved from and it has the 5th highest unemployment rate of 17.4. Crazy!

Walmart will donate a total of $2 million to the 21 communities receiving the most support: $1 million to the winner and $50,000 each to the 20 runners-up. Winning communities will be announced May 1st.

The Fighting Hunger Together initiative is expected to generate 43 million meals for families in need. That, is a lot of meals for a lot of people.

Vote to fight spring hunger with Walmart

PLEASE vote on Facebook between April 9-30. Also share the word on your Facebook, blog or wherever your voice can be heard. We CAN make a difference and helping is as simple as a quick click. Your community, or a community near you may be on the list!

You can also go in-store between April 9 and April 30 and participate in Fighting Hunger Together. By purchasing select products from ConAgra, General Mills, Kraft and Kellogg's, customers can donate meals to Feeding America or Action for Healthy Kids, a nonprofit fighting childhood hunger.

Be sure to check out in-store signage and packaging to make a purchase and help make a difference.

Vote to fight spring hunger with Walmart it is a very easy way to help and your vote will make a difference.
