(3) Which is your favorite event to watch and why?
(4) Have you found a new sport that is surprisingly delightful?
(5) Have you always been a fan of the Olympics? what is your earliest Olympic Memory?
Here are My answers...I cannot wait to come around and see yours.
(1) What was your favorite part of the Opening Ceremonies?
Oh man, I gotta be honest...the opening ceremonies totally blew for me. Seriously I kept waiting for it to get good. But all I want is those miserable 4 hours back. It was terrible. And Weird. What was up with the big creepy baby head? Bizarre!
(2) Which country are you rooting for? ( I realize we aren't all Americans)
USA All. The. Way. But my heart broke for the Brits when Japan appealed and took Silver away from them in Men's Gymnastics.
(3) Which is your favorite event to watch and why?
We are gymnastics fans around here. Probably because my niece is a level 8 gymnast and my brother and his wife own 2 gymnastic gyms here.
(4) Have you found a new sport that is surprisingly delightful?
Synchronized diving caught my attention this year and I have also really enjoyed watching the swimming events.
(5) Have you always been a fan of the Olympics? what is your earliest Olympic Memory?
I have always loved watching the Olympics. My earliest memory is watching Dorothy Hamill ice skate, man that was a loooong time ago.
Big Daddy talks about how much his dad loved the Olympics and how if he were alive today how much he would love DVR and all of the instant replay and slow motion coolness they have these days. Watching the Olympics with Big Daddy is a lot of fun, he has a real appreciation for it and I love watching him get so into it.

As a Brit I'll agree with you that the ceremony wasn't great. I'm still totally bowled over by Beijing 4 years ago and found Friday quite lacking... Couldn't pin point why though!!
Obviously rooting for team GB over here but I have to say, I watched the ladies gymnastics yesterday and the USA girls blew me away! So beautiful!!
LOL at the e-card. I keep saying I'll do something else each night and yet, there I am parked on the couch.
I agree with your comments 100%...except the opening ceremony I haven't been able to see that.
I wish I lived closer so I could watch it with you LOL.
It would help to have someone interested in it to watch with. My husband isn't really into it and all my kids want to do is watch cartoons...this year was a bust for me! Secretly I really want to watch more olympics.
Thanks for linking me up friend. Is synchronized diving new? Funny we both mentioned it.
I felt bad for the Ukraine.I think they lost the bronze when that appeal went through.
Great answers lady.
The opening ceremonies didn't do anything for me, either. They could have skipped all of that and gone right in to swimming!
We liked the opening ceremonies, but then we have kids and they thought is was cool. I really liked the torch lighting part. I wish they would start it earlier or make it shorter though.
That's great that you and Big Daddy get to spend some quality time together watching the Olympics :)
Also that's cool your brother and his wife own their own gymnastic gyms!
haven't been watching the olmpics but i do like gymnastics so if i did that would be the sports. sorry for not hooking up but really had to way of answering these question see you next week Olympics
We kind of loved the opening ceremonies, but then, I'm a sucker for all of it. Ah, Dorothy Hamil! I SO wanted her hair!
synchronized diving caught your eye, or buff guys dancing in speedos caught your eye? Aaron said, "man, you gotta REALLY be secure in your manhood to be able to rock this sport. What guy goes to another guy and says, 'hey man, let's make a routine? That sounds like something my sister would do on roller skates when she was 11" I died laughing. Loving the olympics. Bob Costas has the easiest job in the world. He shows up every 2 years, interviews some athletes and his face takes over everyone's tv for 2 weeks, then disappears until the next olympics.
I agree that I was bummed that the British were stripped of their silver. They were all so excited! I miss seeing that excitement on other athletes' faces. Some of them act like it's simply mundane. They were so happy!
But, in defense of Japan, can you imaging performing with all of that noise and cheering going on? I don't see how the athletes can concentrate through that.
Our gymnast girls were pretty excited last night...I'm glad I got to see that!
Laughing because I love gymnastics, too, and I remember Dorothy Hammil!
Same exact thought about the big baby!!!!
Japan stole from Britain! Boo.
I haven't heard many god things about the opening ceramonies. I am just so glad the girls won the team gymnastics as it the new rule for who makes the all-around is so stupid!!
I've almost convinced my kids to form their own synchronized diving team...
