Happy and Smiling About It!

We are enjoying our staycation, VERY much. TWO whole weeks with no plans beyond basking in the awesomeness of this guy makes me very HAPPY!!!

I have soooo many great pictures of Camp Vasquez to share that make me super HAPPY! If you are new here, we have 6 of my nephews for a week every Summer. Their mom's go to Girl's Camp and the kids come here. They started calling it Camp Vasquez 4 years ago and we all look forward to it each year.

I am pretty much brilliant, let me tell you why. I have 12 nieces and nephews. Having 6 of them all at once each Summer made it easy to celebrate Birthdays all at once. So now we buy presents for the 6 kids, (and mail out presents to the rest) and have an UNBirthday celebration at Camp Vasquez. Being done with birthday shopping all at once, makes me HAPPY!!

This year we bought the boys bird house kits and Big Daddy and Grandpa helped the boys build them. It was about 2 hours of serious work and the boys were HAPPY with their birdhouses and the sense of accomplishment that came with the project.

Learning more about the community we live in makes me HAPPY. Big Daddy arranged a walking tour of San Juan Bautista, a darling mission town close by. Learning about the rich history was really interesting and the boys enjoyed it.

Camping out at my in laws B&B is something we did the first couple of years. This year we went back. The boys were HAPPY to pitch a tent in their garden and sleep under the stars. I was HAPPY that my in laws love these boys like they are their own grandkids and went out of their way to make the camp out special...and allowed us to crash their B&B for a few days.

Since my in laws live so close to San Francisco we took the ferry from Sausalito (one of my all time fave little beach towns) to the city and spent the day soaking up the goodness there.

The boys were super HAPPY to tour Ripley's Believe It or Not!

There is an amazing skatepark close to my in law's home. We have a couple of serious skaters in the family who really look forward to skatepark goodness. They are such little daredevils and over the years have made Auntie's heart skip a beat with their tricks. I have been HAPPY with our 5 year record of no accidents....this year however we experienced our first broken bone. More on that later.

The little guys love taking hikes with their Uncle (Big Daddy). I think it's because he is HAPPY to let them lead the way and take pictures of their ninja/parkour stunts and jumps.

I am HAPPY that these boys can spend hours fully engaged using their imaginations. The older boys spend an entire day setting up targets in our backyard for their slingshots.

While the younger boys spend hours playing in my classroom/our playroom putting together puzzles, train tracks, building with blocks and doing art projects.

Mamarazzi, you and Big Daddy are the very best aunt and uncle in the world! I can tell that the boys had a blast at camp. :D It is so important to have fun with relatives when you can, and celebrate the good times together. Thanks so much for hosting!

I've said this over and over again. I want to go to Camp Vasquez. It looks like so much fun. And now you've made me want to go back to Sausalito. The next time we make it out that area, you and I HAVE to meet.

seriously, who entertains 6 boys for a week without the tv? You guys, do! One more reason that my kids are so lucky to have you for an auntie. You planned such fun stuff! Love those boys, great pics!
Wasn't I there just like...2 months ago? When did steven start looking so old?!
That picture of everyone in the tree is my fave.

Aw, I love how they're rough and tumble outdoor types! I miss having that outlet, as a kid. Like recess, which I also miss. Why did we ever get talked into growing old and giving that up? ;)

I'm glad you're having a great time!
