Testing, Testing...WWTK wk 53

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Crazymama

Before we begin, can you believe we have been doing WWTK for a whole year now?! Crazy how times flies. I have been so overwhelmed with life outside of blogging I didn't think of a way to properly celebrate this milestone. I will work on that, next week...prizes!

This week my lovely co host is asking the questions.
Here is what Crazymama sent:

It's standardized testing week here and in an attempt to send the herd out the door with a full belly I've made hot breakfast for them. So i'm on a food kick. Thus the questions.

{1} What is your favorite go to breakfast recipe for special occasions or company?
{2} What is your policy for kids that don't want to eat what you are serving?
{3} Do you take treats to neighbors? What kind?
{4} What is your most used spice in your cupboard? (Besides salt or pepper)
{5} What is your favorite fruit ? Do you have a Fave veggie?
Bonus question....
{6} It was tax day here in the US. Did you get a return? How do you spend it?

Here are MY answers I will be by later to read and comment on yours!

{1} What is your favorite go to breakfast recipe for special occasions or company?
If we have company  I go really simple. I usually have a fruit salad and bagels and english muffins, with a variety of cream cheeses and jams. OR instead of bagels and english muffins I will do a variety of muffins, banana, blueberry, cinnamon apple etc. to go with the fresh fruit. I also try to have fresh flavored coffee creamers whenever my in laws are in town...since they are BIG coffee drinkers I will brew a pot or two for them when they visit, even though we are not coffee drinkers ourselves.

{2} What is your policy for kids that don't want to eat what you are serving?
They are offered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an apple and a glass of milk, that they make for themselves. I don't do picky eaters well. My nieces and nephews know that is the only other option besides what is being served and Jordan is not picky so it is never an issue.

{3} Do you take treats to neighbors? What kind?
Nope. We really never see our neighbors, we live on a corner lot and the house faces the side of another house across the street from the front door (also on a corner lot) and the garage side faces the back fence of a gated community. I want to be the kind of neighbor that takes treats and junk over, I am just lazy.

{4} What is your most used spice in your cupboard? (Besides salt or pepper)
Most def the Garlic Salt...I am not sure I can cook without it.

{5} What is your favorite fruit ? Do you have a Fave veggie?
I love love love apricots and peaches, oh and strawberries and watermelon...hmm i love fruit! My favorite veggie is broccoli, but i also love asparagus and squash!

Bonus question....

{6} It was tax day here in the US. Did you get a return? How do you spend it?
I haven't recieved a tax return since I married Big Daddy...it always just comes out even or we need to pay a little. This year we will get a little back but it will likely go to Jordan's needs/wants...most "extra" funds do!

Have you voted for the theme of the next swap?

o wow a variety of muffins sounds great! I also like making muffins but they are a big job and since my family is fussy when it comes to fruit muffins it's not that popular. Unless I make one kind of each of them.

I really can't believe it's been a year! Holy Moly! Where did the time go?!

It's so funny I don't do picky eaters either. I'm kind of nazi. I can't stand when my nieces or nephews won't eat their food and their parents let them eat junk and don't make them eat what everyone else is eating. If my kids don't eat they dinner they don't get anything else.

LOL, I'm like you...I want to do that junk with my neighbors too, but I'm just lazy..I still need to do it though.

It pays to be poor..sad but true. We did good this year I suspect while we're in school and poor tax time will be one of my favorite times of the year. My christmas!

Busy is a good! Congratulations on a year.

BTW, I confess that laziness, as well as not wanting to have a long conversation, fuel my not giving treats to my neighbors as well. Which is sad because our neighbor, Alice, gives us stuff ALL THE TIME.

Have a happy Wednesday.

With my issues with salt I go with garlic powder instead of the garlic salt. But garlic is good in just about any form.

Happy Wednesday!

I don't do picky eaters either! "You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit" is my motto.

I love broccoli too. Did you know that hating the taste of broccoli is partially genetic!? Crazy!

We have the same veggies! I ALMOST included broccoli, but then decided that it was a close second.

I also do not do picky eaters well.

Garlic powder and salt used to be used frequently, but then I discovered bottled minced garlic at Costco and it is my favorite way to cook with garlic now!
