Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I Confess...

Sometimes I HATE having a blog, Twitter, Facebook...basically ALL social media.

There is FAR too much room in the written word for interpretation and major misunderstandings can happen because of that.

Like a recent Tweet that I sent out that had NOTHING to do with anything blog related and EVERYTHING to do with real life (it has been cleared up, phew! but there was some residual damage, unfortunately).

I Confess...

I DO actually have a life that happens outside of my blog.

SHOCKER!!

And sometimes I have to deal with people I would rather not have to deal with...toxic people.

In real life it is a lot harder than just "unfollowing" to shake these people, or delete them from your lives.

Most times it is because you work with them or are on a committee together or they are your family (not MY family, just using it as an example...relax mom).

So if I Tweet something and you think it could be about you, it most likely isn't.

I Confess...

I am not passive aggressive AT ALL.

Yep, if I have a problem with you, you know it. I appreciate when people let me know what I offend them so I assume everyone else would like the same favor.

I like to know, so I can apologize...or have a conversation to explain myself and my position and maybe not apologize but respectfully agree to disagree.

I Confess...

Not everyone can handle it. I just like to keep it real, and do my best to approach things with respect.

I Confess...

I recently found out that there is a letter going around to "Blacklist Mamarazzi".

I heard about it from a few REAL friends. I kind of wish I didn't know about it.

I Confess...

Ignorance IS bliss...I would rather not know I have a bunch of mean girls trying to take my blog down.

I really also don't have time for such nonsense.

I Confess...

I have tried to use my blog as a platform to bring people together.

Through swaps, Etsy features, link parties and even Queen for the Day....I just want fabulous women to know other fabulous women.

There truly is no hidden agenda.

I am not trying to gain the most followers or be the queen of blogging.

Really, I could careless about the numbers.

I just want to provide a place for people the gather and maybe lift each other up in support and love.

And...I want to brag about my family a little a long the way.

I Confess...

It is OK if you don't like me. Really. It is.

But how about YOU decide for yourself instead of following along with some mean girls with nothing better to do than gang up on other bloggers?

How does that sound? You are a big girl, you really can choose your own friends.

And guess what? I am currently accepting new friends soooo WINNING!!

OH and please stop asking me if I am upset about new link parties happening on the same day as mine.

I do not OWN any day of the week. This is a BIG blogsphere and there is LOTS of room for link parties...including mine.

I wish my friends well...I really do. I think the people who REALLY know me, know my heart and there is zero room for petty junk that speaks otherwise.

Speaking of link parties...My Happy List has been getting very few link ups, I was going to bag it all together, but I believe that what you pay attention to grows...and I can always use MORE Happy in my life. HOWEVER, I am tired of blogging on the weekends so I want to move it to another day. Please go vote in my poll up there on my sidebar. Thanks.

Fresh Start!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TRESemmé for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard about TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo? I am in love with this product. Ever since my brush with death I am not able to wash my hair daily, I lose a little each time I shampoo (though it has gotten better since I started taking Biotin). SO this dry shampoo has been a lifesaver!!

My second day hair has always been pretty good, but the TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo has made my second day hair FABULOUS!! Here are a few tips to help you get the best results from this amazing product.

- Do shake vigorously before use and in between spray bursts for best results.

- Do lift sections of dry hair and spray lightly at roots

- Do spray in short bursts, holding 8-12 inches from head

- Don’t spray it like hair spray (all over and continuously)

- Do leave in for 1-2 minutes.

- Do use fingertips or a brush to distribute product evenly

- If clogging occurs, remove nozzle and rinse the nozzle under warm water, then reattach.

TRESemme has a complete line of line of dry shampoos that revive your style’s look and feel on days you skip a shampoo. And there ARE days that skipping happens.

These products are uniquely formulated to absorb excess oil and remove odor, the full line of dry shampoos rejuvenates hair without a drop of water. And they smell delightful...so so so so good! There are bursts of citrus extracts infused into every product, it leaves hair with a clean, fresh scent.

The full line includes:

Strengthening Dry Shampoo: The formula, with B12 vitamins and keratin, helps strengthen hair and leaves it full of healthy body.

MY favorite...Volumizing Dry Shampoo: The formula, with mineral clay and citrus, removes oil while injecting hair with salon-gorgeous volume.

Smoothing Dry Shampoo: The formula, with Vitamin H & Silk Proteins, refreshes your straight style by removing excess oil, impurities and odor to ensure your smooth look lasts.

Moisturizing Waterless Foam Shampoo: The formula, with Witch Hazel, Citrus, and Aloe Vera, refreshes your hair by removing excess oil, impurities and odor while moisturizing hair.

Celeb Julia Allison (http://www.youtube.com/user/Ju…) has teamed up with TRESemmé and created a tutorial to teach people how to use TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo properly. You really should check it out:

OH AND...She is also giving away a $500 Gift Card to Target to a lucky viewer, so go watch the video and enter to win...I already have. Crossing my fingers, I could do a lot of damage at Target with an extra $500...woot!!!

We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A wk24

Welcome to We Want to Know Q&A Wednesday

My Aunt Debi is on a bit of a cookie kick right now. It's pretty much all she wants to eat. Divorce diet? Perhaps. It started a conversation recently about food habits. Big Daddy will tell you I have some interesting food habits. Right now, I am ALL about CELERY. Not kidding. A few weeks ago it was kosher dill pickles. So this, along with a guest question, sparked this weeks questions..let's talk FOOD!

{1} What is one thing (food or drink) that you MUST have everyday?
{2} What is your "go to" food when you don't feel well/need comfort?
{3} Is there a dish that you make that people request when they visit your home/a family favorite?
{4} What are 3 foods you have TRIED, do not like and will NEVER eat again?
and our final question comes from Dee@ HomesickCajun
{5} What's one thing that you love to eat that most people would think is weird and/or gross??

Here are MY answers...I will be by to see what you have to say and comment later today!

{1} What is one thing (food or drink) that you MUST have everyday?
Gotta have a Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome...my day is just not right without my LOVER; Diet Pepsi, from a fountain, over ice balls, in a BIG cup, with a lid and a straw.

{2} What is your "go to" food when you don't feel well/need comfort?
Feel Better Chicken Noodle Soup or Chicken and Dumplings...but if I am REALLY not feeling well Top Ramen is about all that I have the energy to make myself.

{3} Is there a dish that you make that people request when they visit your home/a family favorite?
I make an excellent shrimp scampi and homemade pesto...I made it for Big Daddy on our FIRST date. I really love to cook and will make anyone just about anything. One of my favorite things to do is to eat something in a restaurant and come home and try to copy it and make it better. I don't cook as often as I would like. I blame not having a great market here with delicious and unique FRESH ingredients, plus my kitchen is small and not well equipped...Someday.

{4} What are 3 foods you have TRIED, do not like and will NEVER eat again?
Mushrooms...of any kind, cooked any way. Walnuts...I discovered I am DEATHLY allergic, they are not even allowed in our home, it is just too dangerous. Most hot peppers, though I love a good jalapeno jelly.

and our final question comes from Dee@ HomesickCajun

{5} What's one thing that you love to eat that most people would think is weird and/or gross??
Most people are confused by my current celery obsession. Not that it is gross, but that I eat it like 24/7 crunch, crunch, crunch, all day long...might seem a little weird. YUMMY!!

LEGOLAND vacation? Yes, please.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Atlantic Luggage for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When I was 18 my parents gave me a set of luggage for Christmas. I took it as a hint that it was time for me to move out...lol. Maybe it wasn't exactly subtle on my parents part but I was going off to college the following Fall so luggage made sense. I guess. My sister Amy got a Karaoke machine the same year...to say I was bitter is an understatement.

I am still using that set of luggage and let me tell you it has seen better days, and it is NOT cute. It also weighs a ton before I even put an article of clothing in it.

Atlantic luggage is attractive, lightweight, durable and perfect for people on the go go go! Atlantic brand luggage is part of the Travelpr family of brands and a market leader in affordable lightweight luggage since 1919. And really, having good luggage that makes traveling stress free is a must!

My Happy List

Photobucket

Big Daddy, Coco and I decided to come over the hill to Hollister. HAPPY!!

We don't have any big plans. Just felt like coming over the hill to relax and get away from the norm.

My folk's are actually in Hawaii and we are crashing in their empty house.

If we run into siblings or nieces or nephews awesome. If not awesome too.

I am HAPPY just to lay around and do nothing with my handsome hubz.

Coco has been running around the house looking for her best buddy Grandpa Hal. I think she is a little confused with them not being here, where they always are.

Right now as I type this Big Daddy and Coco are napping on my folk's super comfy sofa...it is pretty much adorable. HAPPY!!

We had such a fun evening on Thursday. We were out running errands with Aunt Debi and decided to call Jordan to see if she was free to go to dinner.

It was so much fun to hear all about what is happening in her busy High School life. HAPPY!!

I love that kid.

This was also the first time that J and Aunt Debi have met....I think they hit it off just fine. It could be their mutual love for all things Twilight.

That and the fact that Aunt Debi is a total teenager at heart!

Photobucket

Speaking of Aunt Debi...we are so HAPPY to have her in our home. I love how she is just fitting in and going with the flow of our family. Coco has warmed up to her and they are quickly becoming good friends. HAPPY!

I have been shopping for the upcoming Swapoween and I am having a little too much fun. I love Halloween, putting together a fun swap package always make me very HAPPY!!

I am waiting on some pictures from other Ragnar team mates and will put together a post about that. Big Daddy is still high off of that amazing weekend running the relay. More later...HAPPY!

I am super HAPPY about some fabulous upcoming sponsors that will be announced soon. Do you sell Mary Kay, Scentsy, Beauti Control, Avon or anything else...and want to trade product for advertising? Let's talk!!

Speaking of Sponsors...I am still getting amazing feedback from people who signed up for SocialSpark. Y'all are beyond excited to be getting lots of great offers and I love hearing how much money you are making. I had a bloggy friend tell me they cashed out their first $250 the other day. Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I Confess...

I REALLY missed Coco last weekend when we left her home with my Aunt Debi so that Big Daddy could run the Ragnar.

I mean I REALLY missed her. More than I ever imagined I would.

And, she missed me. She has pretty much been glued to my FACE all week.

Photobucket

Kisses. Kisses. Kisses. AND MORE KISSES!!!

I Confess...

She also made it REALLY hard to get any work done this week...

Photobucket

I Confess...

Coco and I talked Halloween costumes this week.

Yes, really.

We needed to go shopping before all of the good ones were snatched up. Getting the right costume for Halloween is VERY important.

I Confess...

I REALLY wanted Coco to be a princess, or a fairy or a butterfly.

You know, something really girlie.

She insisted she wanted to dress up as a Firefighter like her Grandpa Hal.

Photobucket

I Confess...

It was hard to let go of the girlie costume. But she had Big Daddy on her side.

Photobucket

And really, telling either of them no is not as easy as you might think.

I want my little girl and my man to be HAPPY.

And it is JUST a Halloween costume.

Plus, Grandpa Hal is going to LOVE it.

Seriously, how CUTE is that hat?

Photobucket

I Confess...

I DO realize I am THAT person...you know, a dog person, a crazy dog loving person.

I am OK with it. I love my little furbaby.

Sooooo...what are YOU confessing this week?

We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A wk23

Welcome to We Want to Know Q&A Wednesday
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Alicia aka Queso
Photobucket

This week my adorable co host Queso is asking the questions. She wants to get ALL up in our business about our TV watching habits. Please still be my friend after this post, OK?

{1} What is your MUST SEE show?
{2} What shows are you most excited to watch this season?
{3} How many hours a week do you actually watch TV?
{4} Do you think TV has gotten too "racy" (vulgar, pushing the limit, etc) ?
{5} How many TVs do you have in your house?
And here are MY answers, no judging...I will be by to see what y'all have to say this afternoon!
{1} What is your MUST SEE show?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

{2} What shows are you most excited to watch this season?

Photobucket

{3} How many hours a week do you actually watch TV?
I can't tell you. You would judge me and not want to be my friend anymore and that would make me sad. But you can probably guess it is a lot. BUT I fast forward through commercials so it is WAY less than it could be...right? Seriously, stop judging me.

{4} Do you think TV has gotten too "racy" (vulgar, pushing the limit, etc)?
Yeah, these shows can sometimes cross the line, so I watch them when no one is looking. I don't know that any of these would qualify as racy or vulgar...but I am most embarrassed to admit that I tune in now and then for some of these shows.

Photobucket

{5} How many TVs do you have in your house?
Two...one in the family room that is pretty much always on. And one in the playroom that is only on when my nephews are here for their nightly movie and popcorn at Camp Vasquez. We will NEVER have a TV in our bedroom...we bring our own entertainment to that room *wink*

Send us some questions you would like to have asked on an upcoming WWTK party...we would LOVE to hear from you!!

I gotta tell ya, I love a man in a suit.

My Happy List

Photobucket

This is the TOP of my happy list this weekend....

Big Daddy ran in the Napa Valley Ragnar Relay...186 miles over 30+ hours...2 vans, 12 people on the team (including my brother, sister and sister in law and very good friends) little sleep, lots of caffienated Goo and energy drinks and more laughs and good times than can be counted.

What an amazing experience...even as a cheerleader.

More on all of this later...here is the team at the finish line with their awesome medals...

Photobucket

Here is Big Daddy on one of his longest legs of the run...so much fun to leap frog ahead of him and cheer out the window. This was the only leg we could really do that sue to traffic etc. GORGEOUS country road in the setting sun...just beautiful.

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I Confess...

I may have a slight addiction to CELERY...no really. I do. Is that as weird as it sounds?

I buy it, peel it, cut it thin and pack it in filtered water.

Then I munch on it All. Day. Long.

I Confess...

My obsession has nothing to do with any sort of diet or weight loss.

So, I was shocked when I got on the scale and was actually 7lbs down in a week.

I Confess...

The celery diet is pretty awesome...lol.

I Confess...

Big Daddy is running in a 200 mile 30+ hours Napa Valley Ragnar Relay beginning today.

He has 3 legs and I am here in the North Bay to cheer him on.

He has been training for this run for a while now and is really excited that it is finally here.

My brother Mark, his wife Melinda and my sister Amy are also running the relay, a long with a bunch of our friends.

The team is made up of 12 people and their team name is "The thrill of Victory, may cause the agony of da' feet".

I Confess...

I have been training for the Ragnar too...I am volunteering along with my in laws to pass out medals at the finish line.

It's been hard work practicing saying, "good run" "way to go" "congratulations" etc...and all of the sitting around waiting for people to come running in...yep, good thing I trained for this. All that reality TV watching has me in perfect condition for the job. I am really looking forward to the people watching. Plus the fantastic energy this sort of thing always brings!

I Confess...

Coco and my Aunt Debi stayed home for the weekend, in the hopes that Coco would warm up to her and they would become friends.

I got a text saying Coco has been pacing and looking out the window and whining.

I Confess...

This totally breaks my heart. I knew it would be hard to be gone from her for a whole 4 days, but this might just kill me.

Please think happy thoughts, or pray, that Coco gets over her issues with Debi and lets her love on her. This is soooo unlike Coco and I REALLY need for them to get along.

Heaven knows Debi is trying everything, Coco is just not having any of it.

OH I just got a text, Coco is curled up in Debi's lap now...success? PLEASE I hope so! Keep the good vibes and prayers coming...thanks!

So what are you confessing this week? Grab a button, link up your Friday Confessional post and I will be around to visit as soon as I can...(maybe not until Sunday night).

Links must lead to Friday Confessional posts that contain the Friday Confessional button. Posts should lead to Family Friendly blogs. Blogs containing explicit language and/or sexually explicit content should contain an "adult content warning", or risk being removed from the link list. Kthanks.

No Dropped Calls? Whaaaat?!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TracFone for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My friend asked me about cell phone services, she was looking to get her tween a phone with school starting.  Her kid is super active in clubs and sports.  Staying in touch with her and the other kids and parents in the carpool is a major priority this school year.  I told her that I had learned a lot about Tracfone. It costs very little to get her kids a Tracfone and stay in touch.

Are you looking for some help this school year with your cell phone bill? Are you searching for a low cost phone for your kids so you can keep in touch with them? Have you struggled in the past finding phones to fit your family’s needs? TracFone is here to help!  TracFone offers the least expensive way to own and use a cell phone in America .  There are no contracts, no credit checks, no activation charges or cancellation fees. No surprises!

Great nationwide coverage and excellent reception/connectivity.  Brand name phones from leading manufacturers like Motorola, Kyocera, LG, Nokia and Samsung. Choose from simple " Candy Bar " phones, to Bluetooth®-enabled "Smart" phones.

You can pay as you go online or with cards available at thousands of retail stores across the country.  1 year service cards give you so much more. Receive double minutes for the life of your TracFone, and 800 minutes, for only $119.00.  “Double minutes for the life of your phone” is a feature that can be purchased separately for only$19.99, but some phones include it!  Choose monthly plans with 200 minutes for under $30.00, and as low as $9.99 for 50 minutes.

This is the only wireless service where you can call internationally, for the same price as any other call.  Call over 60 international destinations directly from your TracFone at no extra cost!  With the International Neighbors program, you can provide family and friends in Mexico or Canada a local phone number in those countries to reach you at your TracFone in the U.S.

Simple phones for simple needs, calling and texting capabilities for under $10.00.  Great phones packed with features like camera/video recorder, web access, app capabilities, mp3 player, and full QWERTY keyboard, for $29.99.

We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A wk22

Welcome to We Want to Know Q&A Wednesday
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Alicia aka Queso

Photobucket

Since I am fresh off my whirlwind road trip to take my Mima back to Idaho and bring my Aunt Debi to live here with us, I have road tripping on my mind. I love a good road trip, I am wondering how y'all feel about them...so here are the questions.

{1} What are 3 must haves for a long road trip?
{2} What was the destination of your most recent road trip?
{3} What do you miss most about home when on a trip?
{4} What is the furthest you have traveled on a road trip?
{5} Will you "stop for the largest ball of twine, etc" or are you a "hurry and get there" road tripper?

And here are MY answers...I WILL be around to visit and comment everyone this week!

{1} What are 3 must haves for a long road trip?
Good company, Good music and Good road snacks!! I MUST stop for Diet Pepsi refills along the way...and BIG rice krispie treats. The music HAS to be the kind you can turn up and sing along to. The company...well, my mom is really fun to road trip with, and so is my sister Meg but Big Daddy is my all time favorite road trip buddy. Coco is running a very close second tho...

Photobucket

{2} What was the destination of your most recent road trip?
Rexburg Idaho...with a stop in Fallon Nevada on both ends. It went like this...Wed 5hrs to Fallon, sleep over. Thur 10hrs to Rexburg, sleep over. Friday 10hrs to Fallon, sleep over. Saturday 5hrs to home. It was FAST!! And it was a lot of fun...Coco, Mima, my folks, Big Daddy and Aunt Debi on the way home...good times!!

{3} What do you miss most about home when on a trip?
My own bed. I love love love my bed. OH, and my own potty.

{4} What is the furthest you have traveled on a road trip?
Hmm...I think Wyoming. Why can't I remember? It is after all my question. Duh! Oh wait, New Mexico might have been the furthest.

{5} Will you "stop for the largest ball of twine, etc" or are you a "hurry and get there" road tripper?
Oh I am all about taking my time to get to my destination. When we drove to St. George Utah last year for my Grandma's funeral my sister Meg (living in Arkansas) requested California peaches. Since we were driving we started looking for fruit stands along the way. We ended up taking a major detour to a pick your own farm. We were caravanning with my sister Amy and her family. There was a darling petting farm and the kids loved picking the peaches themselves. Sure, it added to our long day in the car, but it was so much fun!
