My Happy List

Before we start with my Happy List I just wanted to give a BIG shout out to my sister Meg.

Happy Birthday, I can't believe you are 29!!!

May your first of MANY 29th Birthdays be filled with all things wonderful and wished for.

I love you!!

Now on to My Happy List....

As you may already know I have been in the lovely little town of Hollister, for a week now.

I came to get back my HAPPY!

I most def found it and that is on the tippy top of my HAPPY List this week.

Sometimes, when Big Daddy is feeling sweet, he will go get me a "Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome".

If you have been reading this blog for a while, you know that is what I call my drink of choice.

A BIG deeeelicious, Diet Pepsi, from a fountain, over ice balls in a cup with a lid and a straw.

Mmmm Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome. HAPPY!!

Sometimes when Big Daddy goes he will also add a little sweet treat.

Most of the time it is a Rice Krispie Treat.

This time he came home with Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome and THIS...

He thinks he is soooooo funny.

I love him. HAPPY!!

Crafting makes me HAPPY too, especially with my mom .

We have been a very busy girls, working hard to build an inventory so we can open our Etsy shop with my sisters.

HAPPY!!!

Here is a teeeeeny tiny sneak peek at what we have been making.

So much fun to spend ALL day, laughing crafting and enjoying a Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome.

Yep, HAPPY!

I will be headed home sometime today to get back to life and reality.

I am so glad I had this time here.

I am so thankful for my family.

I love my husband.

I am HAPPY!

Friday Confessional

I Confess...

I have spent ALL week crafting and basking in the awesomeness of my family.

I am a very lucky girl.

My mom and I have laughed and crafted our fannies off.

Wait until you see all of the DARLING headbands and various hair pretties we have created.

Seriously CUTE stuff.

I Confess...

We are VERY close to having enough cute stuff to open our Etsy shop.

My mom, my sister's and I are working together to build an inventory before we list anything.

But we already have secured our shop name and cannot wait to start selling.

I Confess...

I came to Hollister to get my HAPPY back.

I had a few really hard, ugly, sad, and painful days before heading over the hill to be with my peeps.

This is EXACTLY what I needed.

I am a very lucky girl.

I Confess...

There are times in that I feel VERY misunderstood.

Not everyone "gets me".

Even people who I think are my friends can say things that make me wonder...

Am I am some sort of terrible person?

Do I really come across as they are describing?

Is there really that much room for interpretation in the written word?

I Confess...

I take things very personally.

I am always looking at myself and I am open to improve and grow as a person and friend.

So when someone, who I consider a friend, points out my flaws in a brutally honest way...

It can be painful and upsetting.

I don't care who you are, everyone wants the benefit of the doubt.

No one likes to feel misunderstood.

I Confess...

After a long week of self reflection I have come to a few conclusions.

I am not a bad person, I am well intended and I do try to give and flex for others.

I also realize that in the blogsphere these kind of misunderstandings MUST happen a lot.

After all, we are human AND we are hoping that the words we WRITE are "heard" and "received" in the spirit in which they are written.

That will not always be the case.

I Confess...

I am not the kind of friend who makes snap judgments or to jumps to quick conclusions.

I ALWAYS give my friends the benefit of the doubt.

We all have bad days...I try to keep that in mind.

I try to make sure I am understanding someone's intention behind their words.

If I am unsure I ask for clarification.

But I always, always, always...give my friends the benefit of the doubt.

I Confess...

I have amazing friends who have sent LOVE, email, texts and chocolate covered strawberries.

They never asked for details, they know I don't gossip.

They just offered love, friendship and understanding.

I am a very lucky girl.

I Confess...

I have the most amazing husband in the world.

Big Daddy extended his commute all week so I could be here with my family but not be without him.

I love, love, love this man who I am blessed to be married to.

He "gets me". He supports me. He loves me exactly how I need to be loved.

Big Daddy never calls me needy, but I admit when it comes to him I can be.

Yep, I am a very lucky girl.

If you do not have a yearbook just share what your goals where when you were 18 and if you have met them. If you’re brave enough include your Senior Picture!

Big Daddy has the most amazing smile and dark brown, almost black, eyes. But it was his smile that got me. True story.

{2} If a movie was being made about you who would you like to see cast to play you? And would your movie be a comedy, drama, romantic-comedy, action film or a horror movie?

Romantic-comedy! FOR. SURE.

I would most def cast my fave power couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.

First because I love them and think that we would have lots of fun together....hanging out as fellow power couples.

They have no idea but we are already kinda BFF (holla Kelly, she reads my blog).

I also think Big Daddy looks a lot like Mark and IF Kelly had boobs, brown hair and gained 200 lbs she could look like me-ish.

Stop laughing...I said "ish".

{3} Does your high school yearbook include a senior comment section? If so share what you said about your future goals. Have you met those goals? If you do not have a yearbook just share what your goals where when you were 18 and if you have met them. If you’re brave enough include your Senior Picture!

I have only ever wanted to be a mom and I am doing that.

Of course I imagined I would have given birth to 5 kids by now.

I guess raising 1 daughter who I did not give birth to is close to my HS "goals".

I admit, I still want more and dream of being pregnant and all that fun stuff.

(that question depresses me, who cares what my HS goals were? it was High School!)

Here is my Senior Picture circa 1989, since I am "brave".

Yes, I know it is awesome.

Stop laughing, girls use to stop and ask me how I got my hair to look that amazing.

I would take out my butane curling iron and my PINK Aqua Net and demonstrate for them.

I am a giver.

{4} What latest trend simply baffles you?

Boots with an open toe makes zero sense to me

{5} When you walk into a room how do you present yourself? Do you walk in with confidence and command the attention of others or do you slink in and do your best to go unnoticed?

My folks will tell you I was born with a spotlight on me.

They said I always expected everyone to stop what they were doing when I entered a room.

Like I expected a standing ovation.

Just for showing up.

I once shared that cute childhood story with some co workers.

From then on every time I entered the main office of the school one or more people would always stand and applaud.

It was awesome.

I miss that.

My Happy List

I am so HAPPY that the warmer weather seems to be upon us.

We actually ran our AC a few times this week.

My poor little Coco does not like the cold weather OR air conditioning.

She started shaking like she was going to fall apart.

Time to get her sweater out.

Coco was HAPPY, she loves her sweater.

But her sweater is thread bare and looking pathetic.

So when her giftcard for winning The Cutest Pet contest arrived, we went shopping.

HAPPY!

Mamarazzi loves to shop y'all, especially for her little furbaby.

I miiiiiiight have gone a little overboard:

Yep, THAT my friends, is Coco's wardrobe.

Hey a girl needs choices right?

It is almost crazy how HAPPY she is when she has clothes on.

I finally got HAPPY about my dog wearing clothes, something I swore I would never do, when Coco actually brought me her sweater to put on her one day.

I decided she should model her clothes for you.

I knew it would make you smile, making you smile makes me HAPPY.

Coco wasn't thrilled for this impromptu fashion show, but she likes to make her mama HAPPY.

Also...I promise she doesn't usually look so annoyed, I am thinking the Cutest Pet thing is getting to her head...serious Diva!

This is a NEW sweater we found on clearance for $4.00 HAPPY!!

It is just like her very first sweater that was falling apart, she loves it HAPPY!

This sweater was also on clearance for $4.00 the little pockets make me HAPPY!


Her face says she is annoyed with me, but really she is HAPPY! This is her swimsuit/dress that our friend Evelyn @ HangingByASilverLining sent her. HAPPY!

A warm new coat with a fur lined hood, $5.00 HAPPY! This will be great this Winter.


I love love love this little denim dress, she looks so sassy running around in it. HAPPY!

This little tee shirt and onesie type top under it is what she wears most days. Purchased with her gift card from Pet Smart along with a PINK baseball jersey, I didn't get a picture of her in it.

The tee shirt says, "Tell your boyfriend to stop texting me" HAPPY, seriously, that's funny!

This is a little fleece cape that she likes a lot, I think because it is soft like her blanket. HAPPY!

OH and she got a new "charm" with her name and phone number on it. HAPPY!!!

I know all of this seems really silly.

And you probably think I am some huge jerk for dressing my dog up.

But I really love this little girl Coco, she makes me so HAPPY.

I never imagined I could love a dog so much.

I suppose only people with dogs know that kind of love.

Coco just brings me soooo much Joy...having her in my life makes me HAPPY!

She always knows when I am sad and sticks to me like glue, trying to comfort me.

Late last night and all day today were rough for me, friend troubles, Coco was there.

I love her.

Friday Confessional

I Confess...

I wrote about a million Thank You notes this week.

I spent a lot of time making sure that each note was personal and sincere.

I Confess...

A lot of these were to my Bloggy Besties for my 40th Birthday Surprise.

I am a lucky girlie.

Not just because I received some truly lovely and thoughtful gifts.

But because I felt the L-O-V-E of these amazing women who I call friends.

I Confess...

I am a little nervous about my Thank You notes.

My handwriting is STILL really messed up since my brush with death.

I Confess...

I tried to really take my time and did my best not to get overly frustrated.

But there are still some letters and words that I really need to concentrate to write.

It took me several hours and days to get them all written and addressed.

They went out in the mail yesterday, finally!!!

I Confess...

I hope the recipients can feel the love through my chicken scratch.

Please know that I am TRULY grateful for your kindness.

Here are MY answers, I hope you take a minute to read them:

{1} Do you make friends easily?

I use to. When we moved here almost 6 yrs ago, I was not worried about making new friends. I knew I would make friends from church, from J's school and her friends parents and I have never really been shy. I was sooooo surprised when after almost a year of living here I had yet to make a real connection with people. 6 yrs later I have come to the conclusion this is just a really strange area, people aren't interested in knowing their neighbor and I have yet to make any close friends. You know, people who you double date with, call to meet for lunch etc. I also realized finally that it isn't me, it is totally them. I was worried about that for a long time.

{2} What 3 qualities are a must in a friend?

HUMOR...seriously if you can't joke around and have a good laugh, we won't get along.

TRUST...don't lie to me, I don't like that.

FLEXIBILITY...my family is always gonna come first, it's better if your's does too. Life happens.

{3} What makes you a good friend?

I am a lot of fun to be around. I am understanding, supportive, honest and loyal. I am also willing to put a little effort into maintaining friendships.

{4} Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life?

Yes? tell us about your meet up. No? who would you love to meet?

YES...and I am super sad that she doesn't blog anymore. Her name is Alison You can read about our first meet up AND our second one HERE. We haven't seen each other since my birthday last year, but we maintain a friendship via Facebook and occasional face to face visits, as she lives close to my in laws, but far away from me.

Here is Alison and I on our first visit, we met up at a Starbucks and chatted for HOURS

Since our girls are the same age there was lots to talk about she is also the first friend Big Daddy and I talked with about adoption. She shares the adoption journey of both her kids on her blog.

Here we are with our girls, they were penpals for a while before we were able to get them together for a visit...and of course the clicked. See more HERE!

AND I am super excited about an upcoming bloggy meet up with my friends MiMi @ Living in France and Myya @ MyyaSays . They are throwing their kids in the car and coming to spend a little over a week with me at my house. It is the MiMyMa Summer retreat MMXI (2011...roman numerals make it more badass)! We are already planning all of the fun adventures we are going to go on AND the late nights spent laughing AND days spent floating in the pool laughing. I am soooo excited and it is like 9 weeks away!! WOOT!!

OH...AND I am making plans to have lunch with Jaclynn @ I Was Never The Girl Next Door very soon!!

There are VERY few blogger who are local to me, but I don't mind a little travel to meet a blog friend!

{5} Who is your best friend? Tell us about them.

Big Daddy is my VERY best friend. I know that sounds weird, but truly, there is no one I would rather spend time with than him. He makes me laugh like no one else on earth. I swear, we laugh All. The. Time. AND he is super handsome, a best friend who is nice to look at is a bonus.

Then there are my sisters Amy and Meg. Sisters who are are also best friends = AWESOME! We ALWAYS have fun when we are together. I would also consider my mom one of my best friends, I love that we get to spend so much time together now that she is retired (she is also really fun, see how she stuck her face in the booth for one of the photos?).

I am 11 yrs older than Meg and moved out of the house when she was like 8. Our friendship grew once we were both married adults and I hired her to teach at a preschool I was developing curriculum for. She is who I want to be when I grow up, seriously.

So there you have it, my answers...now I want to see your's.

Blogging 101

I have had a LOT of people ask me for blogging help and I love to help new bloggers.

I love to help old bloggers.

I just love to help bloggers, period.

Several people have jokingly (I think) suggested that I host a blogging workshop.

Or write a Blogging Etiquette Book.

I KNOW that I am not an expert blogger.

I also know there are bloggers out there who are WAY more qualified than I am to give Blogging advice.

I know I am not alone in wanting to help fellow bloggers.

The comment threads for a couple of my posts....

(My Top 5 Blog Peeves and a Friday Confessional about blog peeves)

...made me realize that y'all had lots to say on the subject too.

So I have decided that I would like to open my blog each Tuesday to fellow bloggers.

(except for the 1st Tuesday of each month because of The Monthly VLOG)

The purpose of these weekly guest posts being..

I will have a few guidelines (of course, since it is MY blog, and my name is Mamarazzi)

But guest bloggers will share a blogging tip, a lesson, if you will.

Fun right?
