I Confess...
I may have a slight addiction to CELERY...no really. I do. Is that as weird as it sounds?
I buy it, peel it, cut it thin and pack it in filtered water.
Then I munch on it All. Day. Long.
I Confess...
My obsession has nothing to do with any sort of diet or weight loss.
So, I was shocked when I got on the scale and was actually 7lbs down in a week.
I Confess...
The celery diet is pretty awesome...lol.
I Confess...
Big Daddy is running in a 200 mile 30+ hours Napa Valley Ragnar Relay beginning today.
He has 3 legs and I am here in the North Bay to cheer him on.
He has been training for this run for a while now and is really excited that it is finally here.
My brother Mark, his wife Melinda and my sister Amy are also running the relay, a long with a bunch of our friends.
The team is made up of 12 people and their team name is "The thrill of Victory, may cause the agony of da' feet".
I Confess...
I have been training for the Ragnar too...I am volunteering along with my in laws to pass out medals at the finish line.
It's been hard work practicing saying, "good run" "way to go" "congratulations" etc...and all of the sitting around waiting for people to come running in...yep, good thing I trained for this. All that reality TV watching has me in perfect condition for the job. I am really looking forward to the people watching. Plus the fantastic energy this sort of thing always brings!
I Confess...
Coco and my Aunt Debi stayed home for the weekend, in the hopes that Coco would warm up to her and they would become friends.
I got a text saying Coco has been pacing and looking out the window and whining.
I Confess...
This totally breaks my heart. I knew it would be hard to be gone from her for a whole 4 days, but this might just kill me.
Please think happy thoughts, or pray, that Coco gets over her issues with Debi and lets her love on her. This is soooo unlike Coco and I REALLY need for them to get along.
Heaven knows Debi is trying everything, Coco is just not having any of it.
OH I just got a text, Coco is curled up in Debi's lap now...success? PLEASE I hope so! Keep the good vibes and prayers coming...thanks!

I love celery and peanut butter. One of my favorite treats of all time. :)
I confess that I thought something totally different than what your intentions were when you mention the 3 legs that your husband has. I am pretty sure you meant the race but it is 4 am and I have a dirty mind! I guess I should have put that in my confession!
Good luck to Big Daddy and the rest of your family during the race!
Hoping that Coco and your Aunt Debi are fast friends by the time you get back.
I heard that celery is worth negative calories because it takes more to actually consume it than it actually possesses. Good deal! Happy Friday.
How do you peel celery? This is a serious question. I just wash it and cut the ends off. I'm gonna have to google it now! LOL Best of luck to Big Daddy in his race, and of course, to you. Sounds like Coco is missing mama, but she'll be okay in the long run.
I like celery with PB or ranch dressing. But for a 7 pound loss in a week? I'd eat it plain! haha. Congrats!
Poor Coco. I have such a hard time leaving my Milo on vacation. It's so hard. It breaks my heart. He's such a mama's boy.
I can do that with carrots, but not celery. I need peanut butter with my celery and it defeats the point :)
Ohhh I love celery with peanut butter and raisins.. love it..hmm I may need to do the celery diet..
Not sure if it's true, but I've been told eating & digesting celery burns calories. I've always loved celery, when we go to wing places, I end up ordering only celery while everyone else eats wings! And I'm sure Coco will warm up, our little dog does the same thing around new people but after a day or two they're best friends!
XoXo
PS good luck Big Daddy!
I LOVE celery. And of course, my love for it went up when I found out it's one of the few foods we consume that we actually LOSE more calories than we consume while eating it. Awesome!! I always make sure to clean it, cut it, and pack it in water when I get home from shopping; otherwise, it lies in the bottom of my fridge and goes bad. Gotta stay on top of that celery... Happy Friday :)
Only thing I love about celery is the smell, that's what happens being a grocery store cashier and having to handle tons of it around Thanksgiving.
Best of luck to your Hubby & family in the race!
I keep celery n carrots in my mini fridge in my office at work. YUM
I LOVE the name of the team, and I would be the one passing out the medals too! Running BAH!
Coco is like all other kids, they miss their mama at first, but tend to warm up. But the minute you walk in the door, Aunt Debi will be okay, but you will be IT!!! Have a great weekend!
Did you know you burn more calories chewing celery than the celery has? Does that make sense?
I have the hardest time using celery. I love that the store will sell it by the stalk. That way I can just get what I need. Although with fall here and soup season here, I may be able to use it up faster.
Hope Big Daddy does well in his relay. Go Big Daddy! Don't tire yourself out with your job either ;)
What does the water do with the celery? Crisp or mushy? I'm hoping crisp.
Way to go Big Daddy! Good luck!
Awww, poor Coco. Hope her and your Aunt start getting a long!
Wow, that's awesome that he's doing this....
Also, what's the difference between packing it in filtered water and regular water?
Sweet coco, she just misses you.
Wow- CONGRATS on the 7 lbs lost! And best of luck to Big Daddy with the race (and to you, handing out medals...that sounds exhausting!).
I'm sure Coco just needed time to adjust. She'll be fine. You'll be fine. :)
I love celery! Especially with peanut butter or cheese...even though that sorta defeats the purpose of eating celery. Ah well. Good for you!!
Celery.
Celery...
Celery?
Celery?!
I think if I keep typing it it will sound good and I will drop 7 lbs too...
Poor Coco. Poor Aunt Debi.
You peel celery? I can't even wrap my brain around how you do that. lol
Do you eat it plain?
My teenage daughter wants to lose a little weight and I've been packing celery, carrots & a little ranch for her lunch. She loves it!
I hope Coco & Aunt Debi are making progress.
I happen to be munching celery as I type. I think it gets a bad rap...I love it! I'd love it even more if I could lose 7 pounds in a week!
That's Awesome that Big Daddy's doing this race. Wow More than I'm willing, or able, to do. "Go Big Daddy & Team!!"

I go thru phases where I love celery then when the phase passes, I won't touch it.
WTG, Paul! I cannot imagine training for something like that. Besides the fact that I think running should be illegal.
I really hope Coco gets with the program. I'm sure she'll come around!
now until new years day = celery season! ok, maybe not really...I think it's a spring vegetable like rhubarb, but for some reason it tastes best to me in the autumn and early winter. like oranges.
Have fun with Jim and Carla at the finish line! Is it bad that I love that there aren't a bunch of too-tan skinny minnies passing out medals? When I finish a race, nothing is worse than having some totally buff leather-skin with huge calves and crazy ripped abs slap my back and say, "well done!" she might as well throw in a "and by the way, I finished an hour and a half ago, you loser..." to the end of it. Try to look sloppy tomorrow. For the runners. Was "wear sweatpants" part of the reality tv training you did? If so, you are SET!
Man, I miss you. I'm turning 30 in 6 months. Come visit.
I love celery, but I have to admit that the only way I like it is if it's covered in peanut butter or if it's in a soup! =) Oh well.
Happy Friday!
I peel celery too - I cut the end off, then peel the strings off. They all come off nice and neat all at once! :)
Hey, I just came back to say: HOW FUN WOULD IT BE IF I WENT TO THE RELAY RACE WITH YOU?! ME AND YOU AND MYYA...PEOPLE WATCHING!!! SERIOUSLY. THAT WOULD BE FUNNY.
Oh, I think I can stop using all caps now.
Good job with 7 lbs lighter. What a great feeling when you were not really trying.
I hope everyone else prepared to give their 'Thank You' speech after you present the awards to them.
Positive thoughts and prayers for Coco. Have a good weekend.
I love celery....with peanut butter...or in egg salad, but not alone! My daughter loves to much it anytime. Good luck to your hubby and the other runners - sounds like you have your congratulatory messages down pat ;)
I didn't get to link up this week because it has been insane around here, and I am sad! I was keeping a list of confessions, too!
Yay for loosing weight. But wait - you peel celery? Huh? How does that work? Celery is something I buy at the store and it rots in the fridge.
glad to hear coco is adjusting.. my dogs are the same way when we leave them.
Okay so I'm late commenting. I know...I suck. But look here I am all the same...
Celery...LOVE it. It's basically the only veggie I can eat without dipping it in Ranch lol
The Ragnar just looks hella intimidating right. HUGE props to your fam for participating and to you for volunteering.
Celery... REALLY??? Ohhh I don't know that we can be friends anymore.
I kid I kid, a lil celery would never get in the way of how much I ♥ you :)
