I Confess...
I host a few linky parties, as you know.
And sometimes there are lots of people who link up.
So awesome.
But sometimes, I wonder if anyone ever takes a look at MY post.
Or
If they just link and run.
Because I get some "thanks for hosting" and "this is my first time linking up" comments.
You know...meh, generic.
I Confess...
I like comments and at least they are leaving a comment.
I see LOTS of link parties that have like a million links and MAYBE 2 comments.
So I am glad to get something and I am super grateful for the comments I get.
BUT (yep, there's a but)
I Confess...
Sometimes it makes me feel a little sad and kinda used.
I'm talking about the comments that are of the "link and run" variety.

That was REALLY hard to share with you.
Because I love that you are linking up.
But if I come to your blog, you can bet that I will leave you a thoughtful comment.
Cuz, that's just how I roll.

I know there are a lot of hosts who NEVER visit the people who link up for their parties.
So maybe people just don't expect that I care who links up or about their posts.

I am not always perfect about visiting every single person who links up.
But
I really do try.
I love my bloggy friends...I love hearing what you have to say.

Even though that was a hard share, I am glad I did.
Confession really is good for the soul.

I am Facebook friends with a lot of my bloggy besties.
I see them "check in" on places and wish I was with them doing fun stuff.

These two have actually "drexted" me from said "cafe".
Drexting...it's drunk texting...Shawn had to Google it, I will save you the time.

That number is actually a TOTAL of check-ins.
For the lifetime of the Full Moon Cafe's fan page on Facebook.
But I thought it was funny
and
I thought my friends and our mutual friends would also get a laugh out of it.
(psst mutual friends, please help them remain nameless, ok?)

Totally for real: I read through yours first and then link up. Mostly b/c I have to come get the button code anyway so mine hasn't even been written! I love reading your stuff, honestly. I follow lots of blogs and I try to leave comments for most of them - and ALL of those comments are more than CUTE or AWESOME. *sigh* I love well thought out twinkles (to quote a song). Anyway...I was inspired after reading some Friday Confessionals late last night and decided to join in this week (for the first time!).
I love getting comments too, if I hit over 10 that will make my day :) I'm like you, I love the comments that say hey I actually read what you wrote. One thing I really hate is if I write a serious post (which is rare) and get a Hey I am a new follower please follow me back comment.

I think the FB check in is kinda hilarious! I am too paranoid to use it. Like what if I check in to one of my local haunts...like the grocery store and then someone I went to high school with shows up there just to say what up? Could get a little creep right?
The face book check in is funny. I won't use it--My phone is just way to basic to do that. And I won't probably get a phone that will. Those smart phones are most likely smarter than I am.

That is a heck of a lot of times to go to one place. I think an intervention is definitely needed!
And yes, when I have my link-ups I for sure go and visit everyone who took the time to link up. I also usually follow those people.
Excited for your new party. But is there anyway we could get the questions earlier? I usually write my post the day before and if we aren't getting the posts until that day it will be more difficult to link up on Wednesday.

I have to confess I don't know how to check to see where my facebook friends have checked into. I'll have to look into that. Ok so sometimes I don't always leave a comment...my thing is I really really LOVE to comment but I want to leave meaningful comments and actually say something from the heart, so if I don't have anything to contribute or relate or say...and it's just going to be generic like "nice post" I usually just won't even comment. BUT (the but) I DO read EVERY Friday Confessional and I will confess most of the time I read all your daily posts...Just might not comment.
I also try to read EVERYONE else that links up and comment on their blogs as well...LIke it's my linky or something! !LOL
I tried to do a linky...NO one participates...I still try and do it every now and then ...still NO ONE!! At least you get participants AND comment love! I have blog envy.

I feel the same way about commentors.. I'm either sad they didn't say anything, or sad that they didn't say enough. But, I'm an over analyzing woman, like the rest of em' so I figure we all feel that way... but people like you who do make genuine comments for others will make them want to leave them for you too.. at least that's what I tell myself.

I think it is great that you spoke from the heart about meaningful comments. I am somewhere in between wanting meaningful comments and wanting to know people are reading my blog. It is nice to know the voice is being heard. What I find fascinating is when people quote something I've blogged and then they confess they read mine. They never comment so I had no idea! I always hated those types of comments too...almost as much as I hated just linking up and leaving no comment at all. Even if its with one of those "big bloggers" that never comment back or anything...be better than them, comment anyway.
