For some EXTREME cuteness.
Go ahead, say it....

Well it was all part of something VERY exciting.
Big Daddy and I have been taking classes to get licensed for Foster Care. Our main goal in doing this was to adopt, but after taking the classes for fostering (in the state of CA you have to get licensed for foster care before you can be cleared for adoption) we decided that we could be a blessing to a foster child too. So we are also considering doing that while we wait for a child to adopt.
Tonight we graduated from our class. A class that frankly EVERY parent should be required to take the second they get pregnant. For. Real.
Anyway we have been getting the house ready for our "inspection" the room was the FUN part. Of course it may all change if we get a boy(s). But it has been fun having it PINK for a little longer too. I was a little sad when J outgrew the pink and requested a green room. Hence the fact we moved her into another room and painted IT green, I just could not get rid of those pink walls yet.
And really...we need some kiddos sleeping in the cuteness of that room full time, no? I mean look at that little piggy tailed darling in that pink bed. I want one or two or three of those...please.
I still haven't figured out how I am going to go about blogging about our life that will now include foster children and children we are in the process of adopting. Obviously their privacy, until they are officially ours, will be paramount. So I will likely be getting very creative.
Who knows how long it will be before we are done jumping through all of the hoops that state requires and we actually start taking in kids, but I have been wanting to share and since we have crossed the first major hurdle by graduating tonight it felt like the right time.
Jordan of course is BEYOND thrilled and has made a request for a little sister or two and THEN we can have some brothers. We told her it didn't reeeeally work like that but we would most certainly TRY. She has been talking none stop about all of her plans for new siblings! We, of course, are excited to be able to make her lifelong dream of siblings come true.

That photo is so darn adorable. I too love the pink-ness. Hannah's rooms is a bright blue (the color SHE picked out). She just informed us she wants a WHITE room. Oh, my! I feel gray hairs pop out on my head when I think about how many coats of Kilz I will have to put over the BRIGHT BLUE!!
So exciting. I have a friend in florida that took in a little boy only 3 day old and they have officaly adopted him. He is almost 2. He rocks their world with joy!!
I will say a prayer for you. I'm so happy for the children that get to come in to your home!
Congratulations! I will be crossing eyes, fingers, and toes and saying prayers for you!
Good luck!
I think you need more than just 2 or 3. Try, 7 or 8! You guys are amazing, and I just know that you are going to bless the lives of so many children through foster care, etc. Not only with the children themselves, but with all the children you will inevitably be introduced to as they make friends at school. I can't wait for them to start knocking on your door!
My BIL and his wife just adopted a child they had been fostering for about a year. He was recently sealed to them, and I can't think of any better gift for a child than an eternal family.
Good luck!
Congratulations! We adopted, so I am very familiar with the "hoops"...but they are sooooo worth it in the end.
Congratulations!! You guys are going to do really well as foster parents!!
So Cute! And I hope everything goes well for you and you fill those beds with kiddos.
I just found your blog. You seem like such an awesome person! I will definitely be coming back for more! Congrats on your class, can't wait to read the adventures of your family and it's new additions!
I am so excited for you! My parents did foster care ever since I was about 10. I always loved having extra little ones around. My parents have fostered about 25 different children and adopted one of their foster children. It is interesting with my little sister. Her birth parents are very violent people, so my mom doesn't like me including her on my blog very often. It is just a bit safer that way. Foster care is one of my best memories and my hardest memories from my teenage years. You have such a warm and loving hard that I think you will love it!!
All the best to you all. Congrats on the grad nite. I'm definitely praying that your wish comes true. Love you,
Susie
I am so excited for you and your family!
So exciting! I wish you wonderful happiness and success with this endeavor.
SO very exciting! And yes, Q-Bee is totally adorable in that pink bed! I know you'll find a way to balance the blogging and need for privacy once your loveys arrive!

That's just awesome!!!
We too are licensed foster care providers. We don't have any children at the moment, but I agree with you... the class should definitely be MANDATORY for all parents! Seriously.
I hope all your dreams come true! Love ya!
Congratulations!!! I know this has been a longggg time in the making and any kids lucky enough to be placed with you are going to be UBER blessed!! Hugs!
