Ouch!

The other night Big Daddy and I were shopping in Target (oh, how I love that store). I grabbed something off of a shelf and broke my thumbnail.

I mean REALLY broke it,

I gasped in pain and showed Big Daddy, he could barely look at it was very sympathetic.

It hurt A LOT.

I never realized how much I NEED my thumbnail.

I mean I really use it. All. The. Time.

My texting has slowed WAY down.

Seriously, I now text with a limp, it's pathetic.

Doubling up on my Biotin, magic pill keeping me from going bald due to all the meds I am now on hair and nail supplement.

Mama needs to be able to text, since her sister Amy never answers her phone.

and umm...

Well I guess that's all for now.

The End.

Oh No...wait, I have a question.

What do you do when you break off one nail? Do you cut down the others to match? Do you just file it so it's not rough and leave the others the length they are?

I am super curious. I really need to know.

I cut all of mine so they match, unless the broken nail is suuuuuper short, then I cut the rest down but not totally off.

Am I obsessive compulsive?

Just wondering.

OK

The End (for real this time).

For some reason I couldn't get this page to load, so I just kept refreshing for like half an hour until it worked. So it you see that you had a zillion hits from my house on your sitemeter, yeah they are all from me. I really like you.

Well if Aaron were commenting he would say you broke your nail because you were shopping at Target instead of Walmart. The rest of the world would say, "oh! ouch! I'm so sorry!"

I want some Biotin. My hair is FINALLY not falling out anymore (yay!)

I once did that to my big toenail (smashed it into a wall). I went to a manicure place where they were able to use some special bonding thing to "put" the nail back together. I don't know how broken yours is, or how much you had to file it down, but it might be worth a look.

My nails never get long enough to worry about this problem.

Ouch, sorry, I hate that! I trim the rest of them down... and file the one I broke. I usually break my nails really short it seems (and usually it is a thumb), so I don't cut my other nails as short, but they all get trimmed.

I usually keep the others longer, until they drive me crazy. This usually only takes about a day. Then, they are all short again.
Sorry you hurt your thumb!
I read your thing about "texting with a limp" on Facebook, and it made me laugh! Here's hoping that recovery time is short!

So strange, but I broke my thumbnail, way down, on Saturday working on the kitchen cabinets. It does hurt! And my texting has slowed also. So... yes, I cut the rest of my nails down. Not completely, but fairly short. They all tend to break within a few days of each other if I don't clip them anyway, so I figure maybe I'll save myself some pain.

This is one of the many reasons I try not to let my nails grow too long. Whenever I do, something happens to where I snap it down into the nail bed and bend it and then have to wait for it to grow out. Yikes I can feel your pain having done it so many times.

When I do, I cut the rest down to a considerable short length and try and keep them just pass the fingertips.

By the way, got my lovely follower package in the mail and have sub-divided it between my girls who are all into nail stuff! Thank you so much for all this purse size stuff to keep my nails looking amazing!

OUCHIE!!! It always hurts soooo bad when you get a bad nail break. I leave all the others alone because my nails hardly grow. They grow just enough to hurt really freakin bad when they do break... which is often. Uggghhh! Now that I am typing this I am thinking I should always keep them super short so I quit having this problem. HA

YOu are TOO, TOO funny! Target casualties are NOT a happy thing! Hope it's feeling MUCH better...and I would cut all the nails back...have serious "match" issues! ;)

Have a great week!

I hurt for you...I've done this and it hurts a lot. Hope it feels better soon. Funny we don't think about our nails very much but we do need them.
