In our home there is no one person assigned to such chore. Maybe I just assume it's Big Daddy's job, ya know, cuz he's the man. It's really never been discussed.
Sometimes Big Daddy will delegate to J when she sweetly comes to him and with sugar dripping off her lips asks, "anything you need me to do daddy?" (oh how i looooove those moments, so few, so fleeting, so wonderful and so reserved for Big Daddy.)
I DO know that I personally have not taken the garbage out in at least 3 months since, as you know from previous posts, I have been sick and unable to help in many household chores.
So recently, when I was having a "good day" and actually had the energy to do a little picking up around the house and found the can full I decided to take out the garbage.
When I returned with a new bag for the can I found this...
Really people?
When you opened the can and realized there wasn't a bag in their you STILL dropped in your trash?
AND
When you went to put the new bag in and SAW the trash you just put the bag in ON TOP of the trash?
yea, me too.
What? Y'all thought I was a perfect housekeeper or something?

I am such a nazi about that too!!!!!!!!! And!!! If the outside of the garbage can looks nasty, I hate that too.
Oh, that is too much.
And, I don't even want to know what the bottom of my trashcan looks like.
I might have left it for the trash bag-taker-outer to discover, though.
hee hee! literally laughing out loud! our kids do it as part of their chores, liv takes out, mason replaces bag...today i took it out for the first time in a long time...there must have been a pound of trash in the bottom! Guess we weren't specific when we taught them how to do it!
This just may be my BIGGEST PET PEEVE OF ALL TIME!
But, other than that, I have no strong feelings on the matter.

at first I was hiding behind my laptop thinking, opps, I know I'm guilty of that...glad to see I'm not alone. LOL

Yours still looks a lot better than mine. I think ours has some fuzzy stuff that isn't dryer lint in the bottom... EEK! But seriously, we keep a bag in there pretty non-stop, so I don't know how things accumulate in there. I know I don't do it (for real) & I don't really see the hubs do it... so I think things slide between the liner & the can. Maybe? Yeah, we'll go w/ that.

I seriously think that we are the only ones that care about things like this. And the empty toilet paper roll that never gets changed.

So funny! Taking out the trash is totally my husband's job and he will frequently forget to put a trash bag in...sometimes I'll toss trash in there just to tick him off. ;)
Drives me NUTS when people just drop the garbage in the can when there's clearly no bag in there! Seriously?!
But yeah, I just put the new bag over the garbage... I don't like to have to touch the garbage directly!
that is so one of my pet peeves, and the other is when they just keep trying to put garbage in when the can is full--don't they have eyes :)

I'm with Cecily....yours still looks better than mine, too. Ours is about 10 years old, but still - it's not that pretty :-) But that's kinda like putting the toilet paper on the counter next to the toilet instead of on the roller. Ugh.
Our families must be related. This week when I was sick and took the trash out (in the cold) myself, I came in to find one of the kids had chosen THAT moment to clean his lunch box out. I should be grateful he cleaned the box, but still...
I'm dying!! My family does the same thing....and they aren't all younger than me, if you know what I mean!!

Haha! Me too. Although one time it was me that took the trash out...got sidetracked and forgot the bag...and then proceeded to dump the rest of lunches uneaten into the can which included some applesauce. I almost cried. *L*
