Birthday Review

Jordan's birthday is Aug 30 and Big Daddy's birthday is Aug 31...on Sept 1 we got together with my in laws and celebrated. A great time was had by all. It was fun to keep it intimate this year. As you know last year was ALL about Jordan's 13th Birthday Extravaganza so this year it was WAAAAAY scaled down...I am thinking we will keep it small until her Sweet 16...she agrees, I am glad.

Jordan "heart attacked" our bedroom door for Big Daddy! She spent a few hours cutting out little pink hearts and writing things that were significant to their realtionship (you can clickety to biggefy for a closer look at the goodness)...a few of my faves are "pals" "sonic happy hour" "daddy daughter dates" "adventures" "special talks" and "bedtime prayers" some of the funny ones that had us shaking our heads and laughing were "dead meat..oh yeah" (the girl loves steak) and "bad eyes" (I guess she thinks its funny/special that she gets her bad vision from her daddy).
The hearts that had us stumped were these 2... did you get that? That's "errand sidekick" (she goes with him E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E) and "half Mexican (him) and quarter Mexican (her)" HILARIOUS!

Anyway that was the sweetest most thoughtful gift and Big daddy loved it...I am certain he will keep those little hearts forever (they are still on the door). Jordan got the idea from a story she loves to hear over and over...when Big Daddy and I were dating I "heart attacked" his apartment it with about 200 hearts and notes...he left them up in his apartment until we got married and moved in together, he still has them. I thought it was sweet that she wanted to do that for her daddy and I was really impressed that she did it on her own and came up with such meaningful sentiments for each heart. No doubt she is a daddy's girl.

Lots and Lots of presents! A new cellphone...she hasn't put it down since.
Who wears it best?
Cake cuteness...
Chevy's deliciousness....
Funny story...I let our waiter know that it was Jordan and Big Daddy's Birthdays. We were busy clapping and singing and I looked over and saw they had brought a sombrero for my father in law too...and he wsn't going to correct them, it came with ice cream, why would he?
these two are total goofs...I mean seriously they take their birthdays VERY seriously...as previously displayed with the cake collage...funny!
and yes...I was there. I need to make more of an effort to hand the camera to someone else now and then...
I am working furiously to catch up on my blogging...more to come...maybe this week, miracle of miracles.

I love the concept of the heart attack!! I have never seen that before, but am going to have to try it at home! She is so sweet and thoughtful to do that on her own. That is one great teenager you've got there!

the notes on the hearts are so cute!

I've had a REALLY rough week with Reese. Last night, Aaron and I talked and figured she must be seeking attention and is acting out to get it. Maybe she needs to be heart attacked by mom and dad.

Who's the skinny guy?

You are all looking awesome.

Happy Birthday, J! I couldn't WAIT to turn 14...dances! Mia Maids! It's when I got my ears double pierced, too. Fun times ahead!
