Camp Out!

I know 3 posts in one week...shocking right? I am trying soooo hard to get back into blogging. I am determined to post more. Honestly I appreciate all of the email I have been getting asking where I am and why my blog has been neglected. It wasn't intention, life just got in the way and given a choice between keeping up with the blogosphere and doing fun things with my family, well...really the choice is not hard...family WINS!! My plan is to TRY post as things happen now that I have basically caught you up in my last post...well kinda. I can't blog EVERYTHING but I am going to try and document things as they happen at least for the next 10 days. We will see if I am able to do that.

So 6 of my darling nephews are with us for the next 10 days and we have MANY adventures planned...and being Mamarazzi I will be chasing these kids and capturing the cuteness with my camera. Lucky you...this is where the pictures we be.

We picked the boys up in Hollister and headed to San Rafael, where my in laws live. We got here and the kids had fun checking out the digs...my in laws live in an adorable house on an inlet so the kids were anxious to go out on the deck and see if the tide was high enough to take the boat out...it was not. No worries though we had PLENTY to do for fun. The boys got out their skateboards and they explored the garden looking for hidden treasures like shiny rocks and shells that are scattered around it's awesomeness...they each have a baggie filled with the treasures they found. They also had fun chasing around Fat Ugly Cat (yes that's her name) and she was happy for the attention...for a little while. We enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner and Big Daddy and Parker put up the tent.
After dinner the kids took a dip in the super cool swim spa...it was hilarious watching them take turns letting the current push them from one side to the other...giggles galore!
Then everyone dried off and bundled up to gather around the fire pit for roasting marshmallows to make s'mores. The kids took turns telling silly stories and jokes as we ate WAY too many s'mores. When everyone had their fill and started coming down off the sugar high we brushed teeth and snuggled into sleeping bags in the tent in the backyard.
So yep, I would say so far we are all having a great time. These kids are a total blast. I love that their folks share them with us every summer and it is so much to fun to watch their personalities grow. We are so super thankful to my FABULOUS in laws for hosting us on our first of 9 nights together. J is having a blast having some of her cousins here though I bet she wishes she were able to go to Girl's Camp with her cousin Taylor...maybe next year. *sigh*

This looks so fun, and it REALLY makes me want to go camping. REALLY BAD! Perhaps we should buy sleeping bags...then maybe we'll use them. How I wish we were there! I'll bet nothing beats a fart joke told around the campfire by one of those boys!!! I miss them. I bet J is incredible with them and helping out in every way. She is such a good cousin.

And nice job putting up the tent, parker!!

Oh that sounds like so much fun. I always loved camping when I was a kid but my kids hate it. Oh well, maybe I can just find another camping family and run off with them for the summer. Just kidding.
