Before I Forget...

Wow life has been crazy nuts busy...like bananas busy. I know I am never going to catch up and post everything I have written down in my little notebook to blog about and I am tired of feeling guilty for it. So today I am putting on my big girl panties and just doing a quick catch up post.

FIRST we have a WINNER!! Remember THIS Absolutely Fabulous giveaway? Well the winner of the DARLING zebra print bag is Amy of Keeping up with the Schultz Family congrats Amy...get your info to me and I will hook you up with Melody and she will send you your bag. Lucky girl you!!

OK so remember when I ran away from home for a week and went to see my folks in Colorado? My sister Meg and her family drove from Arkansas and met me there. We had a great time visiting with my brother Scotty and his wife Kristie and a good time was had by all...well I was lucky enough to go with Meg and her family on a few of their adventures...and I was their family photog to document their happy family vacation. I slipped in a few pics of me too, just to prove I was actually there.

First stop Denver Zoo...FABULOUS!! Reese pretty much pinched her nose the whole time and it cracked me up...such a little princess, I can relate and even joined her in the nose holding a few times. Quincy loooooved all of the animals and walked or hitched a ride on someone most of the time, she was not interested in the stroller. Corbin slept...he is such an easy going baby...super cute.

We went to this little museum/farmtown/cool place in Littleton (I can't remember the name of it but it was darling) there was the cutest little house and inside was so cool. There was even a real live kitty cat sleeping in a basket by the window in one of the bedrooms. Meg loved the pantry with all the home canned goods and when she went home she went straight to work canning...I kid you not check out these posts of hers On Being Prepared-Summertime, Seriously? Another post with pics of a bunch of jars and Meg in an apron... and "Because they like to say, 'SAL-SAH'..." Do me a favor though...she just took her blog public again so if you DO stop by say hello and that Mamarazzi sent ya, so she doesn't FREAK out. My folks were able to take the day off to spend with us and it was so much fun walking around this little place, checking out the baby animals (new pigs and a calf) and chickens. There was even a black smith on hand to educate us (we didn't last long enough to hear his whole shtick...but I am sure it was interesting).
We also found a little time to just lounge by the pool...the first 20 minutes were lathering Meg and the girls up with sunscreen (this family should buy stock in waterbabies SPF 100). I bought the girls sunglasses...aren't they cute?!?
check out the tan I gave my pasty white sister...LOL...gotta love some photoshop skillz...I will be jealous when we are old and she has no wrinkles...but for now I love me some sun!
TOMORROW we pick up my 6 nephews for 10 whole days. We are headed straight to my in laws where we will have a camp out...be sure to check in...I WILL be back into blogging mode and keeping y'all updated on our adventures as summer winds down. Jordan starts 8th grade on Aug 12...can you believe it? School already....and right in the middle of "Camp Vasquez" with the boys! But she is super stoked and ready for her last year of middle school!! Woo hoo!

oh you will like angela...she faithfully leaves comments :o)

Thanks for the shout out!
I LOVE all the pictures you took, how did they end up on mom and dad's computer and not in a place where I can retrieve them? I SO need some of them, Reese in her towel, Q with the sunglasses. Me holding corbn in the air (my fave). I love the one of you and the girls at the zoo. Your pictures of mom & dad with the kids is better than mine, also!

SPF 100 would be AWESOME. THEN there would be no need to get outta the pool after an hour and re-apply!
I know you laugh, but on saturday I went for a run and was outside for ONE HOUR and I was tomato red when I got home. FRIED. ouchie. If only my legs could get a little sun-I'd be ok with that.

I can't wait to see all the pictures you'll post of J and the boys over the next week and a half.

8th grade is fun. Native Americans, Civil War...I actually paid attention in 8th grade. J will love it!

I don't blame you for stepping out on the blog! You've had a lot going on. I love me some photoshop. I am guilty of giving myself a tan in a few of my blog photos. Sadly, everyone looks better tan...even if it gives you cancer in the end!

I simply love all the picture you have posted and the way you collage them all. I need tips on how to pull that off.

Sounds like a wonderful time so far and can't wait to hear more about the 6 nephews and the campout.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

Oh Amy is cute! She has a fun little blog herself so it's great that she won!!! :)

What a great lady you are... giving away all sorts of fun stuff!

I love that you're enjoying your summer! :) There's always plenty to blog about in the summer... but not much time to do it! I think that's the way it should be! When Fall and Winter come around, it's a little easier to snugge up at home and blog! ;)

Such fun pictures!!! I love them all!! I'm just as white as Meg, if not more and I have to HAVE TO do the sunblock. Unfortunately my kids got my skin tone as well :( But good news, they actually do have an SPF 100. It ROCKS! It's by nutragena or however the heck you spell that (too lazy to look it up) and I love their sunblock!
