Randoms 'round Here...

I haven't even had a chance to go through my vacation photos. I swear it has literally taken me a week to get back in to the swing of things here at home. I may as well have been gone a year. I missed my little family so much, everything has been put on the back burner and all I want to do is smooch on my husband and soak up the awesomeness that is my kid.

But it is seriously time to get back to reality. Good thing my reality is pretty fabulous or I would be kicking and screaming!

It has been sooooooo HOT here!! ALMOST too hot to even go into the pool. I spend my days pushing the cooler button on the thermostat...I am so skeeeerd for my electric bill...and of all the Green Mommies looking down their noses at me. I am bad, I admit it...I DO recycle, I DO use reusable bags at the market and I don't litter...but mama needs her AC baby...shweaty ain't cute on me...ok?

Did you enter my latest GIVEAWAY? Absolutely Fabulous Bag below...check it out, entering is easy!

OH and I forgot to do my drawing for fun prizes earlier this month...so I drew for BOTH July and August...WAIT...did you know I hold a monthly drawing for fun prizes EXCLUSIVELY from my list of followers? YES really...just for following...yes, I am that cool! The winner for July is: LyndiLou and the winner for August is Jen from "A Thrifty Home"... congrats ladies...email me with your addresses and I will get a little love off to you after the first of August!

Lastly I leave you with the number one sign that Summer is surely upon us here at Dandelion Wishes...I would like to call it something cute like "proof we have been having fun" but all I really think of it is "CRAP 10 loads of towels everyday" ugh! The swimming pool is more of a blessing than a curse so I will count those blessings...as I fold the towels...including the ones that are still in the dryer!
PS if you live close by come swim...seriously it's a shame the pool is not used MORE!

yes time off is great but so hard to get back to day to day life
i envy you the pool but not the laundry lol
offset the a/c by stringing up a clothes line.
towels from pool just hang and reuse for a day or two! still green and less laundry too!

you should put up a clothesline outside. It is so freaking hot there, they will probably get dry pretty quickly. I know you like fresh laundry, but I bet you can get away with a few days on a towel. Just use two towels (since you get in and out of the pool a lot in a day) an alternate between the two, so the other has time to dry.

haha...if I didn't say it, you know some green mama would have. I took my fish bags with me to the market yesterday, and then forgot to use them! oops! Oh well, we were low on plastic sacks anyway, I use them to tie off stinky diapers so they don't smell up the trash. See? We recycle!
It was 62 here yesterday morning! It has been so hot that it felt crazy good.

I always hate getting back to reality after a vacation of any kind. I am game for the pool, when should I be over?

missed ya on here...glad you are getting settled back in! and this heat...ick! maybe we will come next week to swim!

Glad your catching back up. I usually need a vacation from my vacation!

Yeah, I HATE coming home from a vacation. We were gone last week as well & as I uploaded my pictures I realized i have a small problem. There are 300 from last week alone. I almost cried as I went through them at Sam's when I saw it was 550 pictures to print sice the 4th of July.

And.. During the summer, we don't wash our pool towels after every use. I just hang them up to dry. Either outside or in the bathroom. OR toss them in the dryer. They're just gonna get used again in less than 12 hours.

I'd love to come over for a swim LOL but I'm pretty sure I would need to get on a plane for that one :)

thats alot of towels to wash daily!

By the looks of your laundry measurements - it looks like you've been having a GREAT summer!!!

Towels are the only part of laundry I actually don't mind! Perhaps I would feel differently if I had a pool and was washing that many towels!? lol

Vacations are always hard to come home from. I hope you get back into it soon!! Look at all the towels. Pools are diffentely nice this time of year! Wish I was closer to take you up on your offer.

But at least towels are easy to fold! If I lived nearby, I'd be in your pool. You could count on it!

*Noelle* said...

Oh man! I hear you about the towels! LOL

I always think we need a vacation after vacation...only at home!

MiMi said...

I agree with shortmama. I need a break after my break. That's why I'm sittin' in front of the 'puter reading my blogs today. I need a break! I wanna come swim in your pool, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be too cost effective to drive all that way, huh? :)

Natalia said...

Well, at least bathing suits are small and easier to fold. Can you imagine if you swam in jeans and t-shirts and ended up having to fold towels AND all of those things too???

Susie said...

No kidding!! You would think you would have less laundry because we wear less but nooooooo....it seems to multiply!

i'm so with you on the HOT and keeping cool! that AC needs to RUN COLD ALOT or i'm mean. hot makes me cranky. so for my families safety and my sanity we chill here.
YAY! i'm on a year round plan so it spreads the wonder of the bill out all year round. unfortunatly that makes my winter bill way more than i could be but saves me in the summer. last summer? worst bill? around 700 bucks! yeah. HORRIFYING!

Since I live to the north of you, I understand the AC thing. I am pretty Green myself but 110 degrees aint cute for anyone!

Stay cool!

Yeah, I miss my pool since we moved, but I don't miss the towel laundry!
I could use a dip in some cool water today!

I just became a follower of yours from blogging hopping today! I hope you don't mind, but I love it here!

I wish I lived closer because here in the high desert we could really use a pool!

Wow, it's too hot to go to the pool? In Maine, it's raining enough to cause us to have a swimming pool in our basement. Hmm. I guess you win.

I'll make the trip from Scotland JUST for the pool! It sounds fab and a few towels well worth it. Welcome home! x
