Get It Straight

Notice anything different?
look here
like real close (pink and blue even)
these too
yep...the transformation has begun

seriously....she was cute before and still totally cute now but Big Daddy needs to get a shotgun ready cuz in about 2 years when the braces come off and the glasses get traded in for contact lenses we are in BIG trouble! (Especially when I get my tweezers on those fabulous eyebrows of hers)
Jordan is taking it all in stride. She has been wanting braces for a long while, and I will admit we put it off longer than maybe we should have and we already miss that goofy smile. She has been REALLY diligent in caring for her new braces and we hope it continues. She got them put on this last Thursday July 23. Pain for the first day but it got better as the weekend approached.
The glasses she has had for about a month now. She says the funniest things now and then like. "It's crazy to think about everything I have been missing" and "I never noticed how sharp grass looks" and "I am glad I can find shapes in the clouds now".
Now truth be told this vision loss was brought on by a growth spurt (according to the eye doctor), the girl hasn't been walking around blind for 13 yrs...she gets her eyes checked every year....soooo she is exaggerating juuuust a little bit, but I understand what she means.

So cute! Back when I had braces I wore very dark colors and looking back I really wish someone would have told me to do pink and blue LOL.

Sounds like we're in the same boat! Abby got her top braces on about a month ago...the bottom ones will be put on in a couple of weeks. Plus, she, also, has a palatal expander. She's been wearing glasses since she was 4, but has been wanting contacts. We'll probably get them in the middle of the year. They're growing up...sniff, sniff!

I love her braces...they do look great on her, she already has a fabulous smile.
Definitely watch out in 2 years! You all will be fighting those boys away.

So cute!!!

I remember when my daughter got glasses at 4 yrs old. She's 6 now. But when we went outside after getting them she was looking up and said, "Wow look at those birds in the sky!" I knew then her sight was bad before!

Jordan, you have always been a pretty girl, but WOW! You are growing up into such a beautiful young lady. I like the colors you chose for your braces. Don't ever get yellow. And drinking soda or grape juice will turn the light colors darker. (I speak from experience, this girl had an expanding retainer with a key for a year, then braces for nearly 3 years!)

I'm glad I can still see your BEAUTIFUL eyes through the glasses. The frames you picked out are really cute.

The transformation when those braces come off is breathtaking! I cried, she was mortified, whatever!

Good luck!

She looks super cute in braces and glasses!

She wanted them and likes them now, but here in a few months she will be wanting them off! Ha!

I wish they had all these colors when I had braces!

Here comes trouble. ;-)

Ahh, braces! I can still feel the sore teeth! The pain was aweful, but the end result was worth it. Hope she feels the same! I got a little chuckle out of the eyebrows and tweezer comment... no one told me when I was young that eyebrows could and should be plucked (especially mine!) and I went almost all the way through high school with out of control brows! She looks great now, so I agree... Watch out!!

Could you get us a shot gun for us too please! I love that they are growing up! but I hate that they are growing up too! She is and will be a knock out! watch out!

BTW- girls NEVER exagggerrrattee!

She is already adorable, just wait! (I used to get my braces in different colors too! A long 16 years ago!)

OH wow, my two are fast approaching this same stuff, what happened to the baby I wanted?

Ok so where is the awkward girl? She looks super cute with her glasses & braces...I however did not look as cute when I had MINE on at the same time!! You all better lock her up now before she grows up any more.

She looks beautiful!

Get her stocked up on gum! They say you're not supposed to chew gum with braces, but that was the only thing I could have for a long time that relieved the pain. Braces HURT. Sugar free gum works perfectly as long as she's careful not to let it stick to her brackets. But chewing on gum really does relieve some of the pain. I was the only kid in my sixth grade class that was allowed to chew gum in class because of my braces ;)

I hope he gets a sturdy bat to fight those boys off, 'cause she's gonna be a knock out!

Ah I too remember getting my glasses for the first time as well. The definition in things becomes crystal clear.

Jordan will definitely be happy with the results once her braces are off! I didn't even know that they could do colored braces now!

Oh, braces. Such a milestone. I remember when I got mine (in 3rd grade - my teeth were THAT bad!). And then when I got them off, wow. Good times. She's adorable!

Very cute!
When I was teaching sixth grade, every time one of my students got braces, I said, "Dude, your mama and daddy must love you a lot to do that for you!"

Michelangelo got her braces in March. She's already gone through blue and now is sporting green teeth. She's doing really good taking care of her teeth and wearing her rubberbands. Hopefully she'll stick with it so she'll get them off on time or maybe even a little early.

Jordan is certainly growing into a very pretty young lady.

so super cute! it makes me miss my braces...not really. But i had that color combo too at least twice in my 3 years of wearing them.

Jordan's right about the grass. I remembered being shocked to "see" leaves on trees. I knew what leaves looked like but with my glasses I was able to see them again.

Glasses, braces... she STILL looks cute! And two years will fly on by!

Gorgeous! When I was about her age, I wanted braces so badly - my friends had them - but the doc said I didn't need them. I was very disappointed, and would be even more so now that they make all the groovy colors!
