Cooking with Jordan! #22 Cream Cheese Chicken over Rice

Time for another episode of Cooking with Jordan. You can view earlier episodes by clicking on these links Preview, One Dish Mexican, Grilled Chicken, Cooking(?) with Daddy, Tortellini Soup , Teriyaki Chicken, Buffalo Chicken Bites, Parmesan Chicken Pasta With Broccoli, Garbage Casserole, Cheeseburger Pie, Golden Crusted Chicken Asparagus Lasagna, Baked Rigatoni, Tuna Noodle Casserole, BBQ Beef Crumble, Feel Better Chicken Noodle Soup, Faux Sushi,Chicken Pot Pie on the Fly, Chicken and Dumplings, Egg Nog Pie, BBQ Beef Cups, Beef Pot Pie w/ Corn Bread Crust, Dill Crusted Lime Salmon and Grandma Lynn's AWESOME Dip. The whole point of the cooking lessons for J is to show her some basic easy meals, teach her how to plan a menu, learn how to follow a recipe and help her become more comfortable in the kitchen...this is not anything totally gourmet or culinary school worthy. We hope you enjoy Cooking With Jordan and try these recipes with your kids. They are totally J approved!

I found this one in a draft folder...I never posted it, and it's from FEBRUARY! craaaaazy!

Cream Cheese Chicken and Rice (crockpot style)
4-6 pieces of chicken (we like breasts for this)
1 package of dry ranch dressing mix
1/2 cups water
cook 3-4 hrs or until done on med high shred chicken
(use a liner for this recipe...i forgot)
combine 1 brick cream cheese,
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup of milk
season with pepper and garlic salt
(as you know we don't know how to cook w/out it)
dried parsley for color
blend until smooth
pour over chicken and blend
yummy over rice with a salad

I think you should get Jordan on Rachael Ray - she is always impressed with kids cooking! And if you get to be on the show, bring me too :)

I've been intending to make cream cheese chicken for a long time but haven't ever gotten around to it. I should have by now, though! Sheesh! It has cream cheese in it, so what's stopping me? Makes no sense.

This is Aaron's FAVORITE dinner.
We call it Burnt Chicken because it's the first nice meal I made for him as newlyweds, and he got home from work and was on a phone call, and I forgot about dinner and totally let it burn to a crisp! He ate it anyway and now it's Burnt Chicken. Have you tried it with the southwest ranch packet? SO yummy!

Great recipe. We love this one at our house but we do it slightly different. (Without the ranch mix.) Super yum. Looks like she's a pro.

Another fabulous dish. You should really sell this "book" you are creating!

Ok, so ur recipe is alittle different than mine. I use italian seasoning, not ranch. I don't add milk to the cream cheese and cream of chicken mix and I don't put the garlic salt either. Oh and no parsley. It's so yummy and very very creamy. I should try your version of it and see if I like it better. Thanks for sharing.

I love this recipe. One of the other Senior missionaries and I were just talking about making it for a luncheon at zone conference to serve to our visiting authority. She suggested that we add artichoke hearts to it to make it just a little more special. I think we are going to try it. And J you are so cute I. I miss you and your hugs.

J - That looks tasty. You can come out here and do all the cooking for us. Kristie and I could use the break.

Yum! That is one of our Sunday favorites. It's so nice to have it all ready when we get home from Church. We like it tossed with Angel hair pasta. I just spray my crock pot with Pam before I toss everything in and it washes clean with no hassles.

Jordan might like the Upstate New York BBQ chicken recipe and Salt Potatoes recipes on my blog. They come with a little historical fun too.
