The whole point of the cooking lessons for J is to show her some basic easy meals, teach her how to plan a menu, learn how to follow a recipe and help her become more comfortable in the kitchen...this is not anything totally gourmet or culinary school worthy. We hope you enjoy Cooking With Jordan and try these recipes with your kids. They are totally J approved!
Grandma Lynn's AWESOME Dip
1 can black beans 1 can kidney beans
rinsed
6-8 roma tomatoes diced
2-3 slightly firm avacados diced
we like to cut it inside the skin then scoop it out
1-2 bunches of cilantro chopped (we like lots)
1 small bag frozen corn (no need to thaw)
1 pack taco seasoning
lime juice...we like to use a whole squeezy thing
garlic salt (of course...you know us)
mix it all up chill and enjoy
YES!! This dip is BEYOND awesome....you are going to LOVE it!!

26 Dandelion Wishes Made:
I suddenly have a hankering for chips and salsa . . . and it's 6:30 am . . .
I have the same obsession w/ garlic salt, I put it in everything.
I'll have to add this recipe to the summer BBQ recipe rotation!!! Looks so good!
This sounds great! Thanks for sharing! I want to try that for sure. Now, if I could only figure out how to get Jordan to make it for us.... ;P
Oooh now that sounds good! And looks mighty tasty too! I just love avacado, but I've never bought one. I may need to get brave so I can make this dip!
oooh yummmm! That looks delicuous!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to have to make this at my Mom's house. Maybe for a summer party too. Yummy.
I will have to try this dip this weekend. I was looking for a dip reciepe...thanks...sounds good.
That is such a great idea so she can be able to cook and know how to get around the kitchen.
mmmmm...that sounds so yummy....this is the 2nd blog I've clicked on to read that has a delicious recipe....I think you guys are trying to tell me something...I need to break out some snacks!!!
Chips and dip...bring it on! :) Happy Monday!
This sounds amazing! Any dip with avacado and cilantro are good in my book :)
Yummy. When I first started reading, I swore it was going to be her Spinach dip. Growing up, I lived for wedding receptions and missionary open houses, so I could stand around the refreshment table and eat all your mom's spinach dip with torn up bread. mmmmmmmmmm. delicious. I saw Amy and Mark at Rob's 40th party. It was fun seeing them. :)
You had me at avocado. <3
Oh yeah!! Loving the summer feel of this. Can't wait to try it!
Yummy!
Aside from the "lots of cilantro" I am SO down with this recipe...and now, at 1:42 AM, I am starving for dip. :)
I'll take anything Mexican, minus the cilantro!
This looks like a real crowd pleaser. I will try it out for my next "please bring a dish" event.

Your daughter gets prettier every day! I'm happy for you that you are so close and take so many pictures of all your fun activities. You will both cherish them soooo much in the years ahead!
yummy! i'm supposed to take snacks to a bible study group next week. i'm taking THIS! thanks, jordan.
What a great summer recipe! I just love when Jordan cooks...
What fun teaching her to cook. I'm going back to your old posts to check out some of your recipes. 'Cause now I'm hungry...
The dip looks delish! We just might have to make that on our next Taco Tuesday!
I love that you are teaching her to cook. Then when she goes to college, she'll know how to boil water, unlike a former roommate of mine.
I love chips and homemade dip! This is a recipe that I just might have to add to my arsenal.
Given that most everything Jordan makes is yummy, I'll be trying this one too! What did you'all eat the dip with?
This looks so goog I'm trying it for sure. I haven't stopped by for a while and I think Jordan is looking older! :) Your such an a amazing blogger!
I have to make this over the weekend. It sounds so yummy.
