I learned that research on optimism suggests that it is at least partly genetic and that experts we can LEARN to be more positive.

the fishful thinking site is great! i had no idea that less than half of kids think they'll be able to achieve their goals, what happened to youthful optimism?? anyway, i think the site has some great tips to help parents help their kids maintain or gain optimism for their future!

I went to fishful thinking and I liked the activity to teach "hope" to children ages 3-6. Basically letting them lead the way when going somewhere familiar, asking them to find different routes. Not only is it good for self esteem but it's also a good safety tip. Children should always be taught to pay attention to landmarks and street sings!

I visited Fishful Thinking and I love the idea of teaching your children "positive frustration". Being a parent of a toddler who often has temper tantrums I would love to teach him how to express his frustration in a more positive manner.

I checked out Fishful Thinking and I learned about Positive Frustration Activities. I have a 6 year old that seems to get upset alot. I need to find better ways of handling situations with him and put a positive spin on it. :)

Although I love your Fishful Thinking and I have gone to the page several times...I haven't much use for it myself with no kids - My little Skittles (he's a beta) gets nervouse because we do love eating the crackers! However - I do a lot of work with schools and I will certainly mention this site at PTA/PTO meetings!

I learned how important it is to constantly be encouraging my kids to have positive attitudes. I think the biggest thing I learned after taking the quiz is how much they listen and follow my example and their actions will reflect that, so I must be constantly aware of my OWN attitude!!

My favorite piece, and it was hard to just pick one, is the Swarovski Crystal Vintage Style Bracelet. Her jewelry is so nice and her prices are down right affordable. As for the fishful thinking, I"m grabbing it to put on my blog and I liked the activity section. As an overweight mom, I'm always looking for new things to keep my little ones active in their playstyle.

I've always believed in the power of optimism and sometimes parents do lack the initiative to teach their children about it. I'm glad that there is such a thing as Fishful Thinking to guide parents in teaching their kids optimism because this will be an invaluable tool in their lives.

Only 42% of kids believe that they will be able to acheive their goals. Goldfish cares about kids and wants to help imspire them to become successful in their goals.

I think what I like the most from the site is that a child can LEARN to be optimistic and it does not have to be something they are born with. Self esteem is so important and I know for myself..I got through more downs then up with it,

Now, for the Fishful Thinking! I love the whole idea of this site. It gives us all a way to connect, grow, and learn. I know my children came without instructions.. I'm sure they all came without instructions. Some of the most import skills we can teach our children are so basic.. pride, individuality, strength, and compassion.

I learned on Fishful Thinking that hope is future-oriented thinking that combines goals thinking with pathways thinking and agency thinking...who knew SO many kinds of thinking were involved with hope?? I didn't...I just try to have it! :) I don't have kids yet, but when I do, I hope to raise them with a lot of these positive ideas.

I love the Ivory Pearl and Swarovski Crystal Bridal Hair Vine. I also stopped by fishful thinking and read an article entitled "what not to say to your children" and I learned that when a child is praised for being smart he is apt to be less successful in school for fear that he will look unintelligent. very interesting article. I also took the quiz. my child seems to have very good problem solving skills. I also am following your blog now, not only because of the giveaway but because I think you have good things to say and you are intesting!
