You are overwhelming me. My back has been out for about a week now. I am in a lot of pain. My house is not pretty. I have 2 trees up, one with lights on...one totally naked. I have boxes of Christmas stuff blocking walkways and junking up rooms. I just can't even deal with that mess right now. The thing that totally sucks is being in pain and having to LOOK at it not being able to do anything with it. LAME!! Why can't you work a little of your holiday magic and decorate yourself? That would be awesome. I've seen it happen in movies, don't tell me you can't do it. I believe, that should be enough.
And speaking of Christmas miracles, could you throw one my way? I have 2 things purchased for Christmas. TWO! They are both for Jordan. I picked up a few things for her to make for her friends as gifts. I have plans to make a few things to. Why does money have to be so tight around the holidays? Why do I only notice how broke we are when it's Christmas? I am not even wishing for something super fabulous, just a few things for my kid to open Christmas morning. I don't need anything for myself for Christmas. Christmas is about the kids, so yeah Christmas Miracle...do your thing, for Jordan, not me.
Big Daddy plugged in the outside lights...yep just plugged them in, they were still up from last year. When did we become THAT family? Pathetic. Embarrassing. Is this why you are avoiding our home this year Christmas Magic? Because we made a mockery of your fabulousness by leaving the lights up year round? I PROMISE I won't let it happen again. I will even high tail it down to Home Depot and grab myself an "Amigo" if I have to. They will come down the first week in January if it is at all within my control. I have no idea when we became THAT family on the block. It won't happen again.
I am so sorry if it was something other than the lights that upset you Christmas Magic. I try to be a good person all year round. I cannot imagine what else I could have done to upset you. I realize that it is still early and that maybe you haven't had a chance to grace us with your presence. I will hope for the best.
I also realize how blessed we are to have a roof over our heads, food storage, and each other. I hope you don't feel like I am being greedy asking for a little Christmas Magic in addition to what we have already been blessed with. So if you can just eeeek out one little tiny bit of your awesomeness for us, we would be eternally grateful and be sure to pay it forward.
I Believe,
Mamarazzi

35 Dandelion Wishes Made:
Hey there, SITSta! Thanks so much for coming by on Tuesday and leaving Seasonal Best Wishes. Those SITS Gals really know how to throw a Holiday Party, don't they? BTW, I've been nominated for a Pretty Neat Blog Award. If you have a chance, please come by my place and vote. Pretty Please?
Hey Girlfriend! I'm sure some of that ol' Christmas Magic will come your way soon! You certainly spread enough magic to have earned some payback :) HUGS!
Great letter! Christmas magic gets increasingly hard to find. My house should look like Christmas threw up in it this weekend!
Note to self: Must find the holiday excitement for the sake of the children.
Oh holiday magic please visit Mamarazzi! She needs you!
I'm returning visits from the FanTAbulous Merry SITSmas Event the other day. Thanks so much for visiting, and please...come by my place to see how to Pay It Forward during this Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
Your house is FULL of holiday magic!!! I mean, I know inside you are totally grateful for what you have, but seriously...look around! You have SUCH a beautiful family. A wonderful husband who loves you more than I love super taq. A gorgeous daughter (one with a with a heart 3 sizes too BIG, I might add) that fills your home with love and laughter every time she comes home. Your Christmas wish for years and years and years has been just this. A family. A loving family. A family to love. That Christmas magic IS a workin' for YOU, baby...and it SPARKLES!
I love you!
I made moms gingerbread man cookie advent calendars this week. If I close my eyes and take a deep breath, I think I can smell a little bit of home in the air. Just a little but, but it's there.
Oh Christmas Magic please visit Mamarazzi!!! If I lived near by I would offer to come help decorate for you! MY BFF needed her house decorated last year (She has degenerative disk disease and at the time 2 under 2) and because her Hubby was deployed I did it for her! But now there is this great expanse of ocean (The pacific) in between me and spreading my Christmas joy with the ones I love! I am trying hard to muster the spirit in 80degree weather! As much as I despise the cold weather it truly does help to get you into the spirit! I hope the magic finds you quickly!
Funny letter. I think your mom is wishing for some Christmas Magic in snowy & cold, white & icy Steamboat Springs. Sad to break it to you but since she's older, she gets top priority! (and the fact that she's always decorated the entire house probably helped land her on the A list.)
I love your letter! It's too stinking cute!!!
I feel exactly like you do, I even wanna copy it and mail it out too! lol... I can relate with being ecstatic that life in itself is going good. Family is together, roof over the heads, food on the table, everybody's healthy, bills are getting paid (maybe late, but they're getting paid). That in itself is a blessing as so many others don't have that! But I get you with wanting more. That little extra magic, and for the kids sake... (( insert big sigh here ))
me too my amiga... me too!
=0D
That was a great letter and I hope you back gets better soon. Being in pain is horrible and everything else fades into the background. I am sure your prayers will be answered and you will get some magic your way soon. Take Care! Great post.
I hope all you Christmas wishes come true.
I couldn't have said it better myself! Why all the hoopla over Christmas? Can' tis just be simple?
i am so stressed i can't take it!!!
I love it-'when did we become that family'. Lol!
You could do what my bosses do....just hire a nanny that does all the decorating and shopping for them!
I'm so sorry that you are having such a rough time right now. This Christmas is so tough for so many. Times are so tight here too. Hopefully, you'll get a Christmas miracle soon. Things always have a way of working themselves out. Hope your back feels better soon. (((Hugs)))
I'm so sorry Christmas magic isn't coming your way lately. Hopefully it will drop by soon. Don't feel bad, we had a few really tough Christmases around here for many reasons over the last 8 years. This year is really looking up. But Faith Hill's Where Are You Christmas from The Grinch was my theme song many years.
This too will change, keep the faith!
P.S. online shopping is my best friend!
I talked to Christmas Magic..and he said it was definitely the light issue. And he doesn't want to talk to you yet...he is still a bit miffed. Maybe by next week if you're REALLY GOOD! Sorry..but I did put a good word in for you!
I hope you feel better soon - and I just posted the award you left for me - yay!! thanks - my first!! I also hope I can send some prayers your way for the season and your back!! :)Have a good night!
Aww, hope it gets much, much better for you!!!! Enjoy your Christmas season anyway :) Merry Belated SITSmas!!!
hahaha..LOVING that you guys still had your Christmas lights up. Hope you get your Christmas Miracles! ;)
Fun thoughts--but I don't think the trees decorate themselves in those movies. The birds and bunnies do.
I hear ya! I got the tree put together and fluffed but no ornaments. It is slow going around here!
So sorry to hear about your back. And regarding the decorations, I recall many years of sitting late at night wishing the decorations would put themselves up and then many more late nights I would sit in the quiet and stare at the beautiful tree lights with such a sense of satisfaction. Don't worry, you will get it all done and knowing you, your house will be the most beautifully decorated in the city. And...all J really needs for Christmas is you and Paul 'cause you have so much love to give her.
Mom
I hope you're feeling a little better, Holl. I think you need something that you can control to break you from the christmas spirit funk. Time to think up a project for yourself.... here's my idea:
Goal: have to create something using free stuff/ stuff you no longer use/ stuff you would otherwise give away, to make something you would like to have.
Caveats:
It has to make you feel younger/ cooler/ more with it/ happier.
In accomplishing this task, you have to do something you've never done before.
There my idea to beat the Christmas funk... and the best part is that while your back is on the fritz you can brainstorm.
I just barely got out boxes put away. Now I just need to mop up all the glitter that is COVERING my floors!
So sorry your back is out! That sucks! And back problems are the worst. I have a bad neck and hips (because I'm an 80-year-old woman) and it's miserable. Hope you feel better soon!
The stress of Chrismas shopping...uughh, I hate it :D
And the lights still worked? I tried that one year, but by the following year the outdoor lights were ruined. Perhaps it was too much snow and rain and heat and ... I have had a tree up for over a month. I finally got to get an artificial prelit one! The box is still in the room, the ornaments are still in the basement and the only decoration on it is on paper donut that Diva made.
As for other decorations, it was June before I got the decorations down from above my counters and I'm having a hard time thinking about decorating again! At least I finally got the Halloween decorations down.
I hope your back is feeling better soon.
BTW...you know what the doc says the best way to cure a backache is, don't you??? Aren't you glad now that Big Daddy no longer commutes...tell him to get on it! (no pun intended, hehe)
Sweetie Pie, I'm right there with ya hun! It's been a craptastic week, but I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Sorry it took so long to send out the cookbooks. Long story short, my beloved husband messed up - royally and they had to be redone.
Hugs! Your miracle is coming....
I believe too! Keep yer chin up!
Love your open letters!
I have a $20 Amazon card up for grabs on Monday.
I hope the funk disappears soon so the magic can come back!
I wish I was there to help!
oh i am feeling ya sitsa :) hang in there. Christmas magic is what 'we' make of it. some days is easier than others to 'feel' it, but do feel the love from all your sitsa's on your beautiful blog and know that in time, this too shall pass (like gas) ::: covers mouth ::: did i just say that ? but seriously, i am praying you through.
I come from Jules and the Tippets, I have never met Jules, but Tippet #1 lived with me over a summer, she is my sista's best friend, love her. Anyway I feel the funk this year too! Don't know if its because my kidlet likes to undecorate everything I get done, or just because I am a horrible house keeper! Although my tip for christmas money blues, start in July:D I started buying one gift a month, so that my hubby and kidlet will have things to open, I had to clothe my big bum so I won't get very many gifts but like you said its about the kiddos and my hubby seems to qualify:D
loving this. it's all so true! hugs! the magic is missing here too.
