Cooking with Jordan! #17 Egg Nog Pie

Time for another episode of Cooking with Jordan. You can view earlier episodes by clicking on these links Preview, One Dish Mexican, Grilled Chicken, Cooking(?) with Daddy, Tortellini Soup , Teriyaki Chicken, Buffalo Chicken Bites, Parmesan Chicken Pasta With Broccoli, Garbage Casserole, Cheeseburger Pie, Golden Crusted Chicken Asparagus Lasagna, Baked Rigatoni, Tuna Noodle Casserole, BBQ Beef Crumble, Feel Better Chicken Noodle Soup, Faux Sushi,Chicken Pot Pie on the Fly and Chicken and Dumplings. The whole point of the cooking lessons for J is to show her some basic easy meals, teach her how to plan a menu, learn how to follow a recipe and help her become more comfortable in the kitchen...this is not anything totally gourmet or culinary school worthy. We hope you enjoy Cooking With Jordan and try these recipes with your kids. They are totally J approved!

Today we are sharing a family holiday favorite. We usually make this to have for dessert on Christmas Eve. Egg Nog Pie. My girlfriend Donna (holla!) taught me this recipe MANY years ago and it is a must have EVERY Christmas. 12/24/08

Egg Nog Pie

open store bought graham cracker crust 1 large package of Vanilla Pudding
follow instructions for pie filling but use egg nog instead of milk
mix on lowest speed for 1 minute
take a break to lick some beaters with your goofy Grandpa
i wonder where she gets her goofiness from (my FIL)
fold in 3 large scoops of cool whip

fold into pie crust

make it pretty
chill for 30 minutes and serve...YUM!!

dude...dad it has like 4 ingredients...make one yourself!
I just came home to a 53 degree messy house, two kids with pink eye, and apparently they've both were exposed to hand foot and mouth all week (we are waiting to see how that pans out) no groceries, a cold sore, 4 suitcases and a van to unpack, an ear infection for Q (seriously...would they just give her tubes already?) oh...all 4 of us have food poisoning.

Send the pie to me.

Christmas was NOT the same without you...no matter how many times I tried to tell myself it was.

Oh! And Happy ANNIVERSARY! I know it's late, but...well you read the above.

Congrats on another year with your happily ever after. May you have many many many more to come!

That looks so good! And it's easy enough for my daughter to make herself. I love Egg Nog. What about sprinkling some Cinnamon on top?

Oh my goodness! I LOVE eggnog! I wonder if I can still buy some so I can make that. I will have to make it at midnight when everyone is in bed, so that I can have the WHOLE thing to myself!

I'm not a fan of the nog in general, but think it's fantastic that you're doing the cooking lessons with Jordan. What a great way to set her up with some skills that she'll need later AND get some QT with the kiddo. Great idea!
