Cooking with Jordan! episode 13 Feel Better Chicken Noodle Soup

Time for another episode of Cooking with Jordan. You can view earlier episodes by clicking on these links Preview, One Dish Mexican, Grilled Chicken, Cooking(?) with Daddy, Tortellini Soup , Teriyaki Chicken, Buffalo Chicken Bites, Parmesan Chicken Pasta With Broccoli, Garbage Casserole, Cheeseburger Pie, Golden Crusted Chicken Asparagus Lasagna, Baked Rigatoni, Tuna Noodle Casserole and BBQ Beef Crumble. The whole point of the cooking lessons for J is to show her some basic easy meals, teach her how to plan a menu, learn how to follow a recipe and help her become more comfortable in the kitchen...this is not anything totally gourmet or culinary school worthy. We hope you enjoy Cooking With Jordan and try these recipes with your kids. They are totally J approved! Since the flu is flying around we decided to post our favorite chicken noodle soup recipe.

Mamarazzi's Feel Better Chicken Noodle Soup
1 bag wide egg noodles (boil for 5 min, drain, set aside)
season chicken breasts with garlic salt and pepper
grill chicken (do you have a George Foreman yet?)
chop 1 cp carrots and 1 cp celery
2 boxes chicken stalk + 1 cp water
2 cans tomatoes with diced green chilis

J says, "the spicy from the chilis is the feel better part"
add carrots and celery
chop grilled chicken into "bites"
laugh it up as you add the chicken to the souponce the veggies are almost done add the al'dente noodles
Enjoy and feel better!!

That soup looks great - well done Jordan. I used to do the same with my Jordan and she is one hell of a cook now and a very adventurous cook too (far more than me!). This is a great example of teaching children skills which they need - we dont do it enough. Well done to you both! And thanks for posting your recipe too. I will have to try it.

You know posting these is a great thing for once J does go out on her own. It's like her own recipe box right there on line!

I also LOVE that you cook with Jordan! That is so awesome! My momc commuted an hour to and from work every day and often didn't get home until late, which made it hard to do things like this...hence me not knowing how to cook much! So I LOVE getting recipes from everyone in this little blog world!! Thanks! This looks great!

Holy YUM! It almost makes me wish I had the flu and lived near you so you could make me some :) I LOVE the tomatoes added in...great touch! And you're an awesome mom. I need to remember to start doing this with Kyle here in a couple years. And who says those recipes aren't gourmet? They are in my house, lol.

Great job Jordan! That soup looks yummy. You are so lucky to have a mom who loves to cook and will teach you. You will love it when you are living away from home and have to do this by yourself. My girls didn't stick around our kitchen much and since I did not like to cook they kind of missed out! I plan to have them work hard during the preparation of our Thanksgiving meal this year so they will gain some skills! Great post Jordan and mom!

That looks really yummy. I just might have to make that tomorrow!

These crazy New Mexicans are all about green chili. Like they invented it or something.

I'm going to have to try this. So far, I haven't found a really good chicken noodle soup recipe. I don't know why, because it seems easy, but they are usually too bland. The green chilis in this one may take care of that.
