Jordan and her friend Ashley had a sleep over this past weekend. J wanted to do a "fun Fall craft, something cool, cute and colorful and different." Well Mamarazzi aims to please so I went to work trying to think of something that would meet the criteria requested by my darling little girl. I bought some white pumpkins, got some colorful tissue paper and some white glue and decided the girls could make some "stained glass pumpkins".
The girls got busy cutting the tissue paper into rectangles and squares

"OK get your pictures Mamarazzi, we have work to do here."

they started with the pumpkins upside down, decorating the bottom first

paint a little glue, place a piece of tissue, cover tissue with glue
(look at those eyelashes!!!)

repeat steps until pumpkin is covered. paint a heavy layer over entire tissue covered pumpkin it will dry clear and have a really cool shine to it making it look like stained glass.

smile for the Mamarazzi!! cheeeese!

these pictures do not do them justice. they are D-A-R-L-I-N-G!!

this was a super easy can't mess it up project that would be great for any age...EASY FUN!
i am ALL about THAT and my kid loved it...super bonus!

What a fun project. I love them..
and a great alternative..if the yucky pumpkin pulp makes you a bit queasy.. eew.
I have noticed Jordan's eyelashes before..LUCKY girl..
Great idea! How do you make the gluey stuff? or is it elmers?
That's a great craft idea - and the girls seemed to be very happy too! Great pictures and the girls are very photogenic!
Those are sooo cute! What a great idea! You are such a good sport. My deprived kids do not get to craft or have friends for sleepovers. (Well, maybe every six months.)
LOVE it! & those are some serious to-die-for eye lashes!
What a fun craft. You are da bomb!
I love this! Man, there are so many great crafts out there, I just wanna do them all! However, I think Kya would REALLY love this!!! And it'd give her something to do while we carved our pumpkins. As of right now, all she has is a few things to poke into the pumpkins. Ya know, like Mr. Potato Head, but instead it's Mr. Pumpkin Head or something of the like. That won't take long! Thanks for the great idea!
Love the pumpkins!
Thanks for stopping by! I like what your grandmother said about cowlicks. That made my morning! :)
super cute! what a fun deal...
so much fun! We have so many painted pumpkins in our house now and the kids want more!!!!! White pumpkins - so adorable!
Those are great! I've never seen that idea before and I LOVE it. May have to "steal" that one. And how cute are those girls!? : )
So cute! I love the little cat in the background, too!!!
That is such a creative idea and they turned out super cute! Ditto on J's beautiful lashes! :)
We will be copying this craft if I can find white pumpkins somewhere. Where do I look?
What a FUN project. I have never seen anything done with the white pumpkins. Very cool.
I love that she calls you Mamarazzi. That is so great!
Glad you stopped in! I'll be baaack!
It looks like a fun project! The pumpkins look great.
It is a great project...but I'm just so impressed that girls that age want to do crafts instead of listen to crappy music...endlessly text message their friends....and sit around and gossip. Boy mom you did a great job raising that adorable girl...and she did a great job picking her friends!
What a fun project to do! I hope my daughter still wants to do arts and crafts when she's that age.
that does look like a lot of fun!
Is there someplace I can nominate you for mom of the year?
Okay, it cracks me up that your daughter calls you mamarazzi. That is just too clever!
Great art project, looks like so much fun and very pretty! (Let's bring a little COLOR into halloween, mmmkay?)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Please visit again sometime!

My girls recently decorated pumpkins. I like the way yours look so original. Very nice :D
Kenna picked out a white pumpkin this year I'll show her this. Cute idea.
This is why I had children, so I could do these fun, messy projects and everyone would not think I was silly! It sure looks like they are having fun. A magical WW to you!
Super cool craft mamarazzi!!!!!!! I might try that one with ma girls, lol.
And I'm sorry, I am still MIA. Believe me, it's been no fun at all. To tell you the truth, it straight out sucks. I can't wait to get bk up and running and I pinky promise to play along with the meme you tagged me for as soon as I am. Okie dokie artichokie???
And omg, am I going to have lots and lots to read, lol... I'm looking forward to it!

Sweet!! That looks like a lot of fun :D
Your girl is beautiful!!
When Christmas comes around, you should have them make gingerbread houses!! We used to do it all the time. Graham crackers, twizzlers, candy canes, gum drops, pretzels, other random candy and a hot glue gun!
Sooooo much fun :D
I am thinking that I could even make that! So cute! I love the creepy looking cat in the background!
way fun!
TOO stinkin' cute! I can't wait until my little ones want to get all crafty! Great job!
oooh these are really really cute. Great idea.
Great craft idea...Slug as a mascot??? Love the pictures and understand when a picture does not do justice!! The eyelashes..not fair..cuties!!
Oh, what fun! Funny, Today I posted a pic of my little girl and the white pumpkin she decorated. :D

Ooh, I'm so on it! I have some leftover tissue paper languishing in the closet as I type.
How cute! I love those kind of crafts. I've done something similar with little squares of material on flower pots! I've never seen the pumpkins like that, though. I love it!
