Totally Over It!!

scroll down if you came here for WordFul Wednesday...but you might enjoy reading this too!!

it is almost 4am...i can't sleep...i rarely sleep, but tonight is different. TONIGHT i have a plan forming in my head and i need to "Blog it Out"

OK, i am DONE! i am seriously tired of any sort of clutter in my house. What? You say, Mamarazzi has clutter? and my answer to you would be, YES! You can't see it. You need to open closets and cabinets where i have it all cleverly organized. But seriously, what am i hanging on to all of this stuff for?

1. I NEVER plan on working in an office again, and i have beautiful clothes that i haven't worn in over a year...they are all pretty much fabulous, which is why i have held onto them for so long, heck some of it has never even been warn. Honestly i have a big closet and it is stuffed, PLUS another closet in a separate room that is stuffed...yet i wear the same "uniform" daily (summer: mini skirts and tee shirts and winter: yoga pants and tee shirts, lame, but it works for my life). This stuff has got to go!! OH and don't even get me started on my "I Have a Dream" collection of clothing...dream on sista, not gonna happen before the clothes go totally outta style! And guess what? i am seriously, honestly OK with that! Shocking? Then you don't know me!

2. I have tons of kitchen stuff i never use...TONS!! My kitchen cabinets runneth over...who needs 12 cookie sheets? i mean really? it is totally time...time to consolidate no more than 3 cookie sheets...that seems right, right? especially for someone who like NEVER bakes! Though to be honest i MIGHT bake more if i had a pretty PINK Kitchen Aid Mixer i don't know why i continue to beg for this..it's never gonna happen!

3. I do not think i will open another preschool again. If i do it will be on a muuuuch smaller scale (maybe 2 times a week enrichment program in my home, someday, maaaaybe). So i can totally get rid of the hundreds of boxes turning our 2 car garage into a barely one car garage.

4. SHOES!! i have hundreds and hundreds of pairs of shoes. Yet, everyday i wear the same 2 pairs of flip flops...part of my summer uniform. Come winter i will switch to running shoes (i don't run in) and Uggs..ya know, to go with my winter uniform. I am getting rid of the majority of them...i think i will even limit myself to a number...i am thinking no one needs more than 10 pairs of shoes...so i will keep 25.

5. Books...not gonna keep them anymore. I never read a novel more than once. I will hold on to my HUGE collection of parenting and curriculum development books. I use those. I need them. Soooo those can stay...everything else GONE!!

6. Those 4 boxes that my husband has moved from house to house over the last 10 yrs of his life. He gets to consolidate them down to 1...2 if he doesn't complain about it. I will get rid of my "gonna sort through that someday" boxes too...we don't need them. They take up precious space. It is time to let go.

7. I have soooo much stuff, pass along gifts (you know what i mean, it's totally cute, but not you?!) ribbon, note cards, invitations (to parties i am never going to have), that stuff i found on clearance and could not walk away from (shoot i might NEED that someday) that remains un-opened, oh and wedding gifts i didn't have gift receipts for, yep like i STILL need to keep those!

so 7 VERY good reasons and lists of items...yeah i feel better already just "blogging it out" makes me feel all....exhilarated, alive and READY!!! FREEEEEEDOM!!

I am going to spend the next few days organizing and PURGING!! I am having a HUGE yard sale this weekend. yep...THIS weekend!

I asked J if she had anything she wanted to get rid of...she looked at me a little crazy eyed and said, "NO! How about we just bake some stuff and i can have a bake sale?" I guess I will be keeping some of those kitchen items after all. No matter how hard i try to convince her that cooking is much more fun than baking, she keeps asking...thank goodness i have bloggy friends who post super easy, super awesome recipes...or i might never get that Mother of the Year nomination!

Hey Meg...i so wish you were here to help me decide what i need to keep and what can go, you are so good at that...i guess its easy when it's mom's stuff tho, huh?! BUT, you would probably end up taking it all home, or selling it on Ebay.

OH i almost forget i have a gazillion coupons for ICE CREAM left over from our "Block" Party? if you want some email me never2pink at yahoo dot com...i have them for both cartons of the slow churned and slow churned bars...oh and coupons for FrostyPaws frozen treats for your dog too...for real, for dogs! AHHH Good Mail!!

Ya know what? I might find some REALLY cool stuff that YOU might like. I am going to put together a "Box of Mamarazzi Goodness" as i go through things...i know what you MIGHT be thinking, but i have a lot of cool stuff...i am not going to put junk in that box of goodness. Sooooo IF you are interested in WINNING this "Box of Mamarazzi Goodness" let me know WITH your comment (extra points for creativity and proooof that you READ the post! *wink*). You can comment up to 5 times, each comment is an entry...i will have a drawing sometime next week. Go on...you know you wanna...it's fun, it's free and it's gonna be FABULOUS!

please play the "Box of Mamarazzi Goodness" Giveaway...my self esteem depends on it.

Way to purge. I totally wish I lived near you so I could go to your yard sale. Do you really have over 100 pairs of shoes? I'm going to email you for the coupons, too.

Do you really have over 100 pairs of shoes?

angie said...

I'm going to email you for the coupons, too.

I always borrow books from the library now because I've found I don't re read books enough to justify having them around.

I loved this post. It would be a pain for you to ship a box of fun all the way here, when I can find new stuff to steal next time I'm at your house. I love that I always leave with "door prizes". (sell it on ebay...give me some credit! I'd do craigs list to save myself a trip to the post office and 10 bucks on shipping. With Craigs List they pick it up themselves)

It's ironic that you did this post because i just started a 30 Day 15 minute challenge. We are on day 3 but i'll email you days 1 and 2 so you can catch up and play along. It's going FABULOUSLY so far.

As you purge your stuff you need to sing "PLEASE RELEASE ME". It's a good motivator to help you with your purge. I love you and wish I was there to play along (and keep some of that great stuff!)

Michelle said...

OK I'm just gonna do one comment and cross my fingers... but I do want to say, "BRAVO!!!" You kind of inspired me to go do some organizing. Thanks. Off I go...

Tiff said...

How fun!!! I have a huge laundry basket of shoes and I have only worn my tennis shoes and my flip flops. Go figure. Oh and Big Daddy. . . Go buy that girl a Pink Kitchen Aide!!! Purtty please.
Count me in your Mamarazzi Goodness!!

Lindsay said...

Holy cow - do you really have 100 pairs of shoes??? That's incredible! Good luck this week/weekend...you need to take before and after pics of your sale extravaganza!

Shar said...

3 baking sheets is really all you need. Really.

The stuff you don't sell at your yard sale you should try selling on Craig's List. I hear it's all the craze.

I'm with you on the de-cluttering. I started with my kitchen this week. Next week, office. Dun dun dun! That's not going to be fun.

Good luck with that. You'll have to do before and after photos.

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

Yes 3 baking sheets would be awesome...but let me just tell you a PINK mixer will NEVER do...go for that red! :)

I also keep all of my books and I never read the same book twice...not EVEN twilight! Can you believe that?

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

I also have Dream CLOTHES...but I'm a dreamer...so they may never get rid of?

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

You said MINI skirts right? About how "Mini" are we talking?

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

Actually I was thinking...you may need more than 3 Cookie sheets because you would never have to use a HOT cookie sheet for your DOUBLE BATCH of CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES DADDY'S FAVORITE...I love that recipe!

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

YOu did say I could enter 5 times...so I want the Mamarazzi GOODNESS! :)

Rhonda said...

I would happily pay the shipping if you want to send some of that awesome stuff my way!!!

Andrea said...

AH!!! I so wish I lived by you...I could help clear you out of all sorts of stuff. :)

I just lately have gotten into shoes, and I could use a few more dozen pairs.

I love your 'uniform' attire. You are awesome!

And to win a box of mamarazzi goodness would TOTALLY make my year!!

Crazymamaof6 said...

OK well i shouldn't want the box of goodness. but i do. i really do! it's a sickness, all the stuff you are purging i could purge and then some. and i share the wealth. i can't believe you don't want to hoard your career apparel. I've always wanted my own but never had a call to purchase any. SAD. lance tried to lure me into getting a job so i could purchase some but i didn't fall for it.

OK and the cookie recipe is good for any cake mix. roll in cinnamon sugar, or add chips or nuts. your sista meg emailed me her spice cake mix cookie recipe. have fun with that. it was my first time making some. i am not that domestic. but i am a hoarder.

Crazymamaof6 said...

wow! garage sale! WHOOHOO! way to go you! i lack follow through, and if i don't get it out of my house the day i decide to get rid of it, i end up keeping stuff. so i ditch it at the donation boxes at the grocery store. it's bad. usually i pawn it off on a sister or two. and they can purge it later.

Crazymamaof6 said...

i need some coupons you have my address.

you are awesome!

still super lucky you won the party.

you could hand out coupons for Halloween? when do they expire?

Crazymamaof6 said...

what about ebay?

i still covet the career woman wardrobe.

i buy clearance treasures too.
it's an illness really.

Crazymamaof6 said...

this is my numba 5.

books way to go purging those. i am not a book re reader either. even books i LOVE! every year or so i start purging.

i cling to clutter. it's an addiction. a horrible habit. and an obsession.

i bow down to you! way to go blogging through your thoughts on this. you are awesome! HUGS!

Should be fun! Thanks!

Hey...this counts as my second entry!

I am not quite sure if she has a blog or of it is private. She only recently started commenting.

She seems to be very nice...maybe she just doesn't want to share with the world. :)

Kelly said...

I so need you to live next to me to help me do the same thing. I have a lot of stuff I hang on to "just in case!" But, put me in for Mamarazzi goodness. I'm really excited about any of the baking things you don't want. I (in your words) "heart" baking!

Debbie Yost said...

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE SHOES!!!! DON'T DO IT! Ok, I feel better now. Obviously, you can't ask me for advice, I don't like to get rid of things either. Happy purging.

Alright. I LOVED this post and it motivates me to de-clutter/de-junk, whatever ya wanna call it. Yet, I come here commenting asking to win your box of Mamarazzi Goodness! LOL! However, I don't think anything of yours could be deemed junk/clutter. You're just TOO CUTE!

Jen said...

Um, you need proof do ya? Proof I that I read this post at 1:17 am? Ice Cream for dogs? Are you for real? That is seriously bizarre, but funny at the same time!

Oh wait, maybe Frosty Paws aren't ice cream. . . I better go check your link and come back and reveal what this doggy goodness is. . .

Jen said...

Nope, they're not ice cream. . . but your dog will think they are!

Jen said...

I TOTALLY think all your bloggy friends. YES, all of us need to figure out when your birthday is. . . Perhaps one of you already know? DO TELL!

I mean seriously folks, think what we could accomplish? (this relates to this post, I promise)

See, all the great people that visit Mamarazzi's blog regularly?

She's GOT MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of bloggy fans! Her blog is fantastic!

That being said, we figure out her birthday, we all chip in a mere 3 cents and what do we accomplish?

Presenting Mamarazzi with a PINK KitchenAide Mixer for her Birthday!

Who's in? I think it's the best idea in the whole wide world! (Alright, I may be a little bias)

Jen said...

My 5th comment is gonna coincide with the 5th thing you wanna get rid of and that is books!

Hey, we are going to have a huge garage sale when I get back from vacation. I have sorted several boxes of good stuff while packing my house for storage. I know Amy has a ton of stuff she is selling also. Why don't you save your stuff and bring it on over? It would be so fun together and you can probably get more money for your stuff over here. Think about it.

Love Mom

Holy comments sista!!!!! I think I need to hire you. I really really do.

If it's Mamarazzi, it's got to be good! (Wasn't that a Borden's slogan?)

Right now, I am thinking of a friend of mine who lost her home. They made it through the hurricane only to have her home burn completely because her neice left a candle lit and her mom was throwing stuff around the dark room. It's a long, sad story, and when I am up to it, I will blog about it, but right now, I'm just trying to think of things I can do to help her. She's a single mom with a 12 year old son. So... this is my first entry. I'll be back.

forgetfulone said...

I have to prove I read this post, and I did, every word. Three cookie sheets should be enough. I'll be happy to take your size 6 1/2 shoes. Can you really have too many? Or, how about some of those professional clothes you don't wear anymore. I still gotta work. Hmmm. I wish I was there to help you declutter. That's right up my alley! I could have some fun.

forgetfulone said...

I stumbled your post. I hope I can get an entry for that!
