Sleep? What is THAT?!

What Your Sleeping Position Says

You have a passion for everything - including sleeping.

Outgoing and brash, you tend to still shock those who know you well.

You tend to be selfish. You are the most likely type to take over the whole bed.

You gravitate toward comfort and don't like extreme situations.

If you don't get enough sleep, you are: In a very bad mood.

It's hard to sleep next to you because: You hog the covers.

OK so here is the thing. This is my unmade bed, exactly how it was left when my husband and i abandoned it to begin our day. The red and purple pillows are mine. I DO tend to hog the bed. Our bed is king sized and i like lots of room to move around. I am not a good sleeper, there are times that i have gone a whole week without sleep. My husband? Well he gets into bed flops into a position and stays there the whole night, sleeping perfectly soundly. He would prefer we have a smaller bed because he is a snuggler. I am a snuggler for about 5 minutes and then get off me. Seriously. I will flop a leg over on him, or put my cold feet on his legs, or lay my arm over his, but snuggling, no so much. Sometimes i get a little snarky with him and tell him to "get off my side". To which he replies, "I am on my own side." I STILL don't understand how he does realize that 'my side' is the WHOLE bed, and his side is whatever is leftover. This is all his fault really. For the majority of our marriage he has worked nights, leaving me a king sized bed of pillowy goodness all to myself. He NEVER complains about my bed hogging, my 4 pillows placed just so, my tossing and turning all night, whenever i turn on the light to read when i can't sleep or even when he discovers a new bruise on his leg where i kicked him for snoring... he STILL loves me. Yep he is soooo totally a keeper!

So my bloggy friends i ask you. What is your sleep position? What does it say about you? How big is your bed? Do you sleep on the same side every night? How many pillows? And...are you a snuggler?

First off, I have to say "Hi" and tell you that I apologize for being so silent lately. I honestly haven't been really into blogging lately. Having trouble with inspiration, I dunno.

Anyway, I LOVED this post. As you know, I am not a good sleeper either. The worst. Hubby is like yours and just lays down and sleeps like a baby every night. If he falls asleep before me, his breathing bothers me and I can't sleep because I am listening to it. I, too, need the great expanse of a king-sized bed. If we got a bigger one, I would be even happier. I can honestly say that I cannot stand to cuddle when we are in the bed for purposes of sleeping. All I feel is a heavy arm that feels like lead or that my butt is falling asleep or whatever. I am a side-sleeper. When one side goes numb, which it does...I turn over. Anyway, I could go on and on. Sleep is a huge issue for me so my "sleep hygiene" is very important to me. My husband is a saint for dealing with it. I'm glad you can relate. We're in good company. Are we in the same time zone (EST)? We should get on IM on those nights we can't sleep. I'm sure we'd find each other on there at the same time at some point! Too many things swimming in the head! (I think it is a sign of extreme intelligence.) hehe

So many changes over the years! It's hard to keep up. Right now here is the sleep situation. I have 2 fluffy pillows on our king sized bed. Hubby is the bed hog so at times, I end up with whatever is left over. Actually, I'll push him over if I can. We go to sleep "spooning" on most nights. If I go to sleep by myself I usually go to sleep on my stomach or side. I always used to be a stomach sleeper but after 3 pregnancies and some minor back irritations I can't always get comfortable that way. I never used to sleep on my back, but since my kids I do on occasion. On rare occasions I will talk in my sleep. Sometimes Hubby thinks I'm awake and will talk back. I'll usually wake myself up and be really embarrassed and get mad for doing it. I hate a cold bed in the winter. I'll warm my feet on Hubby but will not let him do the same! I'm selfish like that.

I'm a snuggler for a while i guess them I'm done too. Two pillows. I'm a super sound sleeper. One time the fire alarm went off. Jason got up and got it to turn off, it took a few minuets it was right above our bed. I didn't hear a thing! I also love it when I cant sleep and Livia come is to snuggle I fall right to sleep with my babies with me.

This is funny HolleeAnn. It sounds like me. I am a bed hog, too. And I kick Zac and put my feet all over him, too. I love my California King. I used to be a bed hog, but now Kendall comes in and forces me to scrunch up on the side with her feet in my back. Ouch. And I can snuggle for a few minutes too, but generally I am NOT a snuggler and Zac is.

I did the quiz, You must be a stomach sleeper, too. I especially liked the part where it said if you don't get enough sleep you are in a VERY bad mood. Everyone who has ever seen me on not enough sleep, knows this ALL too well about me, lol!

LOL! This post was hilarious and sounded just like me! I came up with the exact same sleep position etc as you and doesn't it pretty much describe us? We have a king bed as well and I hog the entire thing! I also take all the covers. Now, we just split the covers so he's sure to get some. He usually takes the entire sheet and I have the rest! But, I end up taking his sheet most the time too. That is, if I'm ever sleeping. I'm a total insomniac! It's so not fair as my hubby can lay his head on the pillow and truly be asleep in less than a second. NO FAIR! I kick him and poke him, etc too to tell him to stop snoring as well. As for snugglin'. . . totally like you! AHHH, I can't cuddle for a minute or two and then it's, "get off me and move over" Don't touch me please. I am of course "allowed" to touch him with my ice cold feet to get them warm or whatever, but NO, not a snuggler AT ALL! My poor hubby is. Oh the things they deal with. Don't we just LOVE THEM?

I could sleep all day and all night. But I prefer to stay up all night and sleep all day. (Maybe in 10 years, I'll get to do that again.)

Huge bed of pillowy goodness sounds like mine...King Size, Foam Topper on top of pillow top, covered with giant pillows, and sqishy down pillows, topped off with my down comforter in supersoft duvet cover. Ahhhh, I need to go back to bed.

I usually sleep on my side, and while we only have a Queen right now, we're hoping for a King soon. And snuggling?? Ug. I can't stand it if even our feet are touching while I'm trying to sleep. Crazy, I know. Fun post, though!!

Oh, and by the way, I mentioned you in my post today, just so you know!

Jon and I don't even share a blanket and haven't since our first night married. He burritos himself in his blanket so tightly he has to unroll to get out of bed every morning.

I don't like to breathe anyone's air and I am a terrible sleeper, so I don't face him, cling to my side of the bed and toss and turn all night.

I don't cuddle either. Seriously if you were to watch us sleep you would think we were in a fight or something. But we aren't. I just don't want him stealing my covers OR my air!!

I am a snuggler at first and then I like to roll over and sleep on my side!! I also love to get into an unmade bed.. It drives my bf crazy!!

We have a queen sized bed and there are nights I feel like it is not big enough. We have assigned sides of the bed- being the mom, I am on the side closed to the door so the kids can get to me easily (I dream of switching sides, but I know they would just walk around the bed to me anyway). I sleep with my back to hubby and on my side. I rarely change positions - unless I am having a hard time sleeping. He rolls and twitches and turns about all night. He snores and gets kicked or pushed from me for it. We don't snuggle much. If we do snuggle, hubby is asleep in about 10 seconds and then the twitching starts and I can't stand his arm twitching and bumping me so I push him away. So, yeah, not so much the snuggly type around here.

I'm a side sleeper and SO not a snuggler. At all. But luckily, neither is dh. He's the one hogging the covers most nights. I'm fairly still if I'm sleeping. Although, I get raging bouts of insomnia and RLS a couple nights/week, so I usually head out to the couch. Here's what it says about side sleepers: (all true about me except the bed hog part, lol)

My hubby HOGS the bed, but apparantly I steal the blankets. Hee hee...

Oh, and I am NOT a snuggler. When I want to sleep, I want to have my own space. Luckily we're both the same that way, so it works out pretty well!

We seriously are so alike! My husband is also a snuggler and I am a Snuggle for a minute and then give me some space type of person!

My husband also does not complain! That is so great!

I have to sleep on the Left side if you are looking at my bed...and I have to sleep on my side...doesn't matter which side...and I stay right there on the side of the bed...I use just the sliver of space...and I snuggle up to a body pillow...but I blame my pregnancies for that! :)

My answer came out the same as yours.

Now your questions: I used to fall asleep on my back until a few years ago. Now I turn on my stomach and snuggle with a pillow. We have five pillows on the bed. He uses one, two are decorative, but one of those I have to have in the middle of the bed, and the other two are mine, one for my head and the other to snuggle with. I used to pull that pillow up over my head to sleep. We have a king size bed, and I sleep on the same side every night. But when we got married three years ago, I had to change sides. I was used to the left, and so was he. But I adpated.

Maybe you can come read my post that says "MY NIGHTS."

I loved this post!! I'm like you and a snuggler for maybe five minutes then it's "get off me already!. I sleep with two pillows and no matter what the weather is I am covered up to my chin! I sleep light. I guess that's what happens when you have two boys that can get into anything and don't always stay asleep all night.
