my feelings we not hurt in the slightest when Jordan chose her Aunt Meg's (my baby sister) Mexican One Dish Casserole for her first meal, to cook for the family. It may sound a little YUCK to you, but trust me..it's pretty YUM and kids LOVE IT! Jordan's BFF Emma was here for a sleep over and joined in the fun.
Mexican One Dish Casserole
brown minute rice, Hormel Beef Tamales, Hormel Chili w/ beans,
salsa (whatever you like), shredded cheese and corn chips
drain and peel Hormel beef tamales
brown minute rice as directed.
sprinkle with cheese and heat until cheese is melted
also don't forget i am Guest Blogging over at Three Peas in a Pod until Wednesday. Tiff asked me to post a recipe for today and there is a little silly video of Jordan, and her BFF Emma, cooking...check it out, pretty cute!

Today's your birthday! It's my birthday too yeah (not really, but that's how the song goes), Today's your birthday..." my singing may have ruined it, but Happy Birthday! April ONEth--how cool is that?!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or is that an April Fool's Day joke? I can be pretty gullible sometimes.
I'll go check out Three Peas! Jordan is quite a girl and will make quite a wife!
Hey, I know you were kinda joking about the scrapping thing where you send me pictures and supplies and I send you back completed pages, but there's something to that idea that appeals to me. If you're serious, I I'd like to try what you're talking about at least once. I think it would be fun. Let me know if you think that might be a real idea!
Looks so great!! Can't wait to try it outt. Check out my site, every Tuesday I do Tasty Tuesdays... Fun & Easy recipes...
Thanks for yours..
It sounds yummy. How fun that Jordan cooked so many meals - she is well on her way to becoming a good homemaker/mommy!
Happy Birthday to you too!!!!! I hope you have a wonderful day. See you soon, Kellan
That's so neat that she wants to learn and do those things with you, and even better that you do it. So many parents these days brush their kids off. I can't wait until my girls want to do things like that with me. Now I prefer to bake but we can start there right. Dessert's rightful place is first!
First of all - Happy Birthday!!
Second of all - Your daughter is very impressive, I think that what she did is very amazing and I can't wait to see and try some of your recipes. By the way, I heard about your blog through Leann's website.
Sharing the gift of cooking is wonderful! I truly believe that cooking can bring families together and it is such a wonderful life skill. I am doing Tasty Tuesdays on my blog along with Dana from Just Talk.
Happy B-Day!! Those pictures are great :) Looks like a total blast. Thank you for stopping by the other day-- I just started a Family to Family section for moms to post their stories/pictures about their kids, I think yours are great and I would love to have your posts!! Hope you have a wonderful day.
Happy Birthday!!!
You should rent her out....I would totally pay to have her come cook at my house! ;)
Happy Birthday! Our birthday are close together mine is on the 3rd.
That dish looks Yummy! What a great moment, teaching your daughter to cook. Fun, fun!
Happy Birthday! How wonderful to be cooking with your girl. My son took some cookbooks out of the library this week and started menu planning, so I better take him to shop and get him cooking!
Dinner looks yummy, but I can't read the little font! I must be getting old:)
Lol - ok, I'll like April Fools just for you and I'll tell people to be nice because it just might be someone's birthday. :) Happy Birthday! (I totally understand - everyone was always too partied out for my birthday because it's the day after Drinko De Mayo)
Awwww. When I saw the second to last picture I thought "that lasagna looks good"...then I remember that's not what they made.
DUH!
Anyway, looks good :)
Happy Birthday to you! What a neat idea! What a great time for you two! Have fun with the cooking and I will be back for more recipes! Yum! :)
Happy Birthday to you! I hope you had a great day!

You are such good and patient mom. MA always wants me to teach her to cook. I try, but I get frustrated easily. Now that she's older I'm getting better but I have a hard time letting her do it without taking over. You know, my way is the right way and I'm so much faster at it. I'll have to try out the recipe sometime!
Sorry I'm a day late. I really neglected my blogging yesterday.
That's awesome that she's cooking dinner. And gets you off the hook for a bit.
What up Holl, I was expecting to see a birthday post but the day came and went without one. Happy Birthday!!! to you. I hope yout had a good day and were able to spend some time with Paul and Jordan. I love you sis.
I MISSED your birthday?? I am so sorry-I hope you had a wonderful day. We are on the second bout of the chicken pox and life is hectic here. I haven't hardly been reading or commenting. But I needed to some tell you a) Jordan is adorable and I want her to come cook for me (and my son *wink* *wink*) and b) Happy Birthday Friend!!!
