Spring Picnic

last week we took the girls to Knights Ferry for a picnic. it was BEAUTIFUL, everything was green and in bloom. we had a great time enjoying the sunshine and exploring the paths. i can't wait to go back and ride a tube down the river this summer! this is one of Paul's favorite childhood spots. he has fond memories of his family going there for picnics. anyway here are some pics, i know there are a lot, there were so many cute ones to choose from...enjoy!!
the girls are always ready for a photo shoot!

so cute!
tossing rocks into the water
it was warm enough to wade in a few feet
climbing trees
this tree was kinda of high so Paul picked them up and stuck them there, hence the slight look of fear on their faces. but i wanted a pic of the covered bridge behind them, so...i won.
goofy girls climbing trees
posing pretty (again)
girls following Paul down a trail
house used as an office for the mill in mid 1800's and went abandoned for a while. then in 1930's purchased by a private citizen and used as a vacation home until the 1970's when the county purchased it.
awww BFFs in the SPRING!

"LOOK! a woodpecker, in that tree!!"
Here is the woodpecker (do you see it?)
it was a GREAT day! i love that Spring has finall sprung!! woo hoo!!

Thanks so much for sharing that. My husband and I spent and afternoon on the exact beach 14 years ago. It's nice to see it again in your pictures and realize that it hasn't changed.

I'm loving the spring weather too. What a beautiful day and place to be together as a family and with a friend. I love old buildings- I think of all the stories they could tell. They are so beautiful- I loved the shot of the bridge too. What cute girls as always. I'm amazed you got that shot of the woodpecker. They're easy to hear but not spot for me.

Hey...catching up on my reader, finally!!

That looks like a great day and all, though the only thing I really noticed was that it was warm enough to wear shorts there.

I covet your weather. Really.

It's still winter in Michigan, and I'm not happy about it.

Your spring pictures are amazing. It is giving me spring fever. We still have barely any sign of spring but at least the sun is shining FINALLY, and that is making the grumpies go away.

I love that bridge. I have never ever in my life seen a real live up close coverd bridge. I love the pictures and I am going to see one some day.
