Frog Hunting '08

For those of you new to our blog, we have a family of frogs living in our back yard. Jordan loves to hunt for them, play with them for a little while and then put them back. You can see awesome video of that on this Sept '07 post wait...how many frogs do i have to kiss? She actually has mad skillz when it comes to catching these little guys, so you and your kids really might enjoy those short videos. When we had our first "springy day" about a week ago Jordan decided to show her BFF Emma her skillz...
they set the water flowing into the hole...and wait...
....and wait (see the hose dragged across the pool and into their home?)
then i hear a "WE GOT ONE" and come running
hey now...lets wait about 10 yrs before we go kissing for a prince
a few minutes go by and i hear, "WE GOT ANOTHER ONE"
awesome here is a couple of SHORT videos of the girls talking about the frogs and then releasing them back to their froggy home (until the next time they decide to "invite" them out to play). watch the SECOND one FIRST...blogger is being poopy and i can't rearrange them

Ok, I started a the google reader thing and look I got to your blog like 2 minutes after you posted...I think!!

We used to live out in Queen Creek Just south of the valley...

One night like close to midnight we were driving home and noticed these things jumping on the street and soon I realized they were little frogs...and the closer we got to home, the more there were..like thousands of them...I couldnt help but smoosh them...so when we got to our neighborhood we stoped and caught a bunch of them.

..that was probably the coolest thing about living out in the middle of nowhere..But they only came out at night and mostly after it rained...

When I was a kid we lived near a creek and my brother would catch frogs all the time. It's just one of the fun kid things we all need to do. How cool that you have them living right in your back yard!

I am not that big of a fan of frogs.....but the girls seem to be having a great time playing with them!

If only I had kissed a few less of them when I was younger....I suppose it is all worth it now! Don't you wish you could save her from that heartache? I know I do for mine!

Ewwww! I think frogs are so gross. However my daugher Kenna loves them. She even has a collection of stuffed frogs, I know kinda wierd! But cute. She has never acually touched one or seen one in real life. Maybe the Zoo. She would love to hang out in your back yard.

How fun that you have frogs living in your backyard! My friend found a turtle in their backyard and now it's their pet.

Jordan is good at catching those things. I wouldn't even touch them!

P.S. I just read about your embarrassing moment at three weddings. It's good to see I'm not alone in this experience. However, I can't imagine how that must have been for you!!! BUT your date was AWESOME! What a cool guy! I don't think I would've been able to go out with him again though either. I would have been humiliated.

You have a family of frogs AND a pool.

Do you have room for a chilly OHmommy family?

Those frogs are awesome. What a great idea. She must have mad skills because catching frogs is hard.

I think I might be afraid of frogs. The kissing one, although cute, just about did me in! YIKES!

How cute!!! I love those pics. I'm a Kindergarten Teacher and my class just got tadpoles, hopefully they will all survive and grow into big frogs like the ones in your backyard!! Kids love that!!

BTW - Love your blog!

I used to have frogs when I was little- and every other animal known to mankind. I have only done butterflies with my Kindergarten class-but I would love to do frogs! How fun!
