Dancing Queen

on Saturday night Jordan went to a Cotillion at our church. it was for 12-13 yr old boys and girls. this was the first time Jordan ever danced with a boy. she was REALLY nervous, and asked us to "stick around" until she gave us "the signal to go". sooooo OF COURSE i took pictures...one of these days she is not going to let me get away with such nonsense, but right now she is "cool with it" so snap snap snap!! after about 15 minutes and many pictures she finally gave me the "signal"; her hand at her side with a little wave. when we picked Jordan up an hour or so later she was all giggles and smiles and was excited about learning "old fashioned dances, like really old". here are some pics (the lighting was horrible sorry) of her doing those old dances...the swing, waltz and something else i can't remember...must have been WAY before my time.

Thanks for sharing! I'm honored to have been a part of this magical time. How wonderful! I can only imagine what life will be like when Ashlyn is at this age....thanks for a glimpse into the future!

OHMIGOSH this afternoon I heard a country song on the radio that reminded me of church dances. I wanna go to a church dance. I miss them.

Looks like Jordan had fun and quickly got over her first dance nerves. Yay!

That is so cute! I've never heard of a "cotillion" for the common masses in this day and age. Was it through a church group or something? That is such a significant time in a girl's life. I know Jordan will remember this forever!
