Def Leppard, Ribs and Sugar Daddies

sometimes Jordan says things that really make us laugh...i am sure everyone thinks their kid's random thoughts are beyond hysterical, but we aren't that biased, we KNOW she is funny...cuz she rarely tries to be.

case in point #1: Jordan recently discovered a love for Rock and Roll...her dad may have something to do with the fact that she seems especially fond of classic 80's hair bands. Paul made her a mix CD with some of her favorite Rock songs: Pour Some Sugar on Me, We Will Rock You and a variety of other songs i don't know the names of by Janice Joplin, Queen, etc. Jordan is particularly fond of Def Leppard...i think it is the one armed drummer. one day we heard her "rocking out" in her room to Def Leppard, we noticed the added sound of her own drumming on some marching band instruments i have left over from my preschool. i jokingly asked Paul, "Do you think she is in their drumming with one arm behind her back?" he laughed and said, "yeah, probably". a little while later she emerged for a glass of water and i said, "We can hear you rocking out back there, were you drumming with one arm?" and she laughed and said, "yea it's really easy, i thought it would be harder." Man i love this kid!

case in point #2: i took Jordan and her BFF Emma out for dinner a few weeks ago. they decided that the would each order something and split it. Jordan ordered a kid basket of ribs and Emma ordered a kid basket of pizza rolls. they split them up and started enjoying their food. Jordan dug right in and ate her ribs by picking them up and tearing into them with her teeth...Emma was a little more lady like and cut hers from the bone using a knife and fork. Jordan noticed this and said, "Emma you just need to pretend to be a wild animal and attack your ribs like you are eating your prey".

case in point #3: Jordan returned from sleep away camp with wonderful stories of fun and exciting adventures she went on and stories of the friends she made. she was telling us about one little girl and said, "oh and she had a sugar daddy, i want a sugar daddy" our ears perked up and Paul asked, "what is a sugar daddy?" bracing himself for the answer when she replied, "it's like caramel on a stick". we both looked at each other remembering when sugar daddies were just that...caramel on a stick.

Baby Ducklings

So there is a little pond behind a Fruit Barn and it is our new favorite place to go. You can buy bags of food for the hundreds of Coy fish and the family of ducks that live there for $1 a bag. One of our favorite things to do is stop there and feed the ducks after buying DELICIOUS fruit (for super cheap) provided by the local growers. I took a few pictures on one of our recent trips with Grandpa and Grandma Machado and Great Grandma Georgia. Sorry for the quality i took them with my phone. Good news, i got a new camera and will be playing with it to try and get better pictures from the many adventures we go on this summer. Soooo stay tuned!

Another BFF Sleepover

Jordan had her BFF Emma over for a sleepover not too long ago and i took some pictures...here they are fo you viewing pleasure...

We had lunch and a little shopping at the Mall. Here the girls are in their matching Best Friends Forever tee shirts that Jordan bought for them using the money she earned working for her Grandpa. (she spent a week with Jim and Carla at the beginning of the summer)



Chillin' in our pool! Thanks heaven for this pool, it has been HOT here and it is all i have to keep me from dying...that and AC baby!
