For Jordan's birthday she asked for HER bathroom to be redecorated. More specifically she asked for a "monkey bathroom". So her gift from us on her birthday was just that...a monkey bathroom. Jordan's bathroom (as well as the rest of our home) has VERY dated features including some funky 70's style lights. So before you say what
I did to them is tacky let me assure you that the "before" was far worse (i should have taken pictures). This bathroom is a very small space presenting me with my biggest design challenge to date. BUT Jordan flipped over the end result and well...if she is happy then i can certainly live with a monkey bathroom in the house. What do yoooooooooooou think?

paper bag vines for the monkeys to chill on also covers the uuuuuugly chain that "hides" the cord to the lighting fixtures.

you can kind of get a glimpse of the 70's goodness in the reflection in the mirror.

awww baby monkey on a the towels...how cute!

Yo, That's pretty dope. We have two monkey's in our bathroom, too. Bongo and... I think Congo are thier names.
As usual, My decorating tastes are the same as 12 yr old girl. At least I'm consistant.
Uncle Scott, oh no you did'nt. I am in Junior high I am not that young. My monkey bathroom is cool! You should redoo your bathroom with a gorrila.
See you later dude,
Jordan
As you can see Jordan has a new sassy attitude she is trying on, i thought i could just let her go to the blog and reply since mostly she has been sweet...i think she misunderstood and that you LIKED her bathroom, and we not making fun of her. i will explain it to her...or she might have just been trying to be funny..who knows?? hormones! LOL
OH! HolleeAnn this is adorable. You need to come and do my kids bathroom. I was wondering if you had any pictures of Jordan's room and gameroom you could post? I heard about the flowers you painted in the gameroom and I loved the canvases you did for her bedroom, I want my sister in Idaho to be able to see them. Jordan is a lucky little girl to have you for a mom.
Hi I am a lurker, LOL. Actually my twin sister Kari told me to come and look at the monkey bathroom. It's really cute! I would love to see pics of the other rooms you decorated for your daughter. You definitely have the touch there girl. Hope I get to meet you when we come out this Winter.
Kati
Very cute! I like it and can't wait to see it in person.
love it! And I DID see the before of the bathroom...very brady bunch...and not in a good way. you really did a great job.
So the real question at hand is: this is a monkey bathroom....so are these monkeys going to throw feces at me if i upset them in any way?
by the way, I love that you are updating your blog regularly now. Like I need more things to do to waste the free time i don't have! Anyway, reading your blog makes me miss you and want you here. Remember that day when we stayed in our pajamas and watched chick flicks and ATE junk ALL day long? we made s'mores and Paula Deen's Gooey Butter Pumpkin Cake and grilled cheese and hot cocoa and about 100 other things? And remember how we spent the whole day just hanging around and looking for that stupid hampster that had escaped and was hiding under the sofa? hmmm...that makes me never want a pet...and it makes me really want gooey butter pumpkin cake.
yes i remember that day VERY fondly. it was one of the few times i called in sick and since i was your boss you didn't have to work either...ahhh power and oh the calories. but it was such a fun day, i love days like that!!i could use a day like that.
and man the hampster...i fogot all about that! remember Judie took it home and it got out on her drive and died in her car?! ew!! better her than us!
ok, i had forgotten about the hampsters final fate! But i have to tell you that right as I was reading that comment a HUGE cricket-spidery looking bug jumped out of an air vent and onto my leg and scared me so bad that i seriously almost peed my pants.
are you still doing your kegals?
Aaron...i love you more than i did before!! i am laughing so hard right now...and the answer is YES!! remember my big fear is losing my bladder control (like my sisters) i will do EVERYTHING i can to avoid that!!!
there's even more to that joke...you'll have to ask mom about it though.
more to the joke...and MOM is the one who has to tell me!?!?!...now i am skeeeeeeeerd!!
OH MY GOSH! I thought I'd killed him with aaron's flip flop but the little bugger CAME BACK TO LIFE and tried to get me again! Why won't the creepy thing die? It's the size of a quarter, it's not like I missed or anything! It freaks me out that the bugs here are so big that you have to actually hear them crunch to know they're really dead!
wait a minute...i just read scotty's comment...you aren't referring to the hugging monkeys with the velcro hands that grandma Lawrence gave to ME, are you? I haven't seen those in years...and if that's them...i want them back you stuffed-animal-stealer-you. Maybe if reese had a monkey she wouldn't feel the need throw her own poop. (refer to my blog for details on that one)
i am glad i am keeping things updated too...i think i made 8 posts in August...and its only the first week of September and i have already posted. I have some cute pics from Jordan and Emma's latest sleep over i will add soon!! (i know you can hardly contain yourself)
Nope. And those monkeys were Amy's. The monkeys inb our bathroom were picked up on a vacation if I remember correctly.
that is adorable! sadly, 2 of the photos didn't load, so I couldn't see those, but I saw the monkeys hanging from the ceiling. Now my green bathroom pales in comparision! :)
